I know that this will cause a number of people on the forum here to cackle or even flame me on this but I'll note it anyway.

Why the heck does every single female in the game large chested?  How realistic is that?  It seems that the artists felt that larger was better and they might as well appeal to a juvenile audience.  Personally, I think it's silly and I just shake my head with every new female encounter where each one competes for being top-heavy.

I just thought that variety would be a bit more interesting...  you know...  to appeal to that juvenile side of things.

My guess is that there's some magic going on at the birth of females throughout the land and if they aren't born with at least a C-cup gene...they're prematurely aborted or still born.

Okay...flame away.

This. I've seen worse.
At least this isn't Soul Calibur...

And yes, pretty much everyone in DAO is good-looking. The same can be said about men who are all very fit and muscular.

There is only one body model for human, elven and dwarven women each. They just exchange the heads. Which is why many character have some kind of collar device.

lol yeah I stripped down Jory and Daveth before the Joining and it looked like they'd been stuffing melons down there.

Agree. At least the women in this game have some meat on their bones (well, except for maybe elven females).

And to the OP: The bodies of the men look all the same as well, if you hadn't noticed. It's just easier that way.

The collar is because the heads are animated. Most games instead hide the fact that their heads don't actually ever move.

The eternal curse of having a single body model per gender per race. They'll want to make that model look good, fit and quite Leonidian, as it doesn't feel particularly heroic to play an obese warrior who runs out of stamina from jogging 20 steps in his armour. Furthermore a healthy C-cup seems to be something like the industry standard for the "reasonably hot female fantasy heroine" - nevermind that the heroine is forever doomed to share her shapely and buxom figure with every other female in the game, regardless of their age and standing...

Personally, and as a man I may be in the minority here, but I'd rather women in game have smaller breasts. For one thing, wouldn't the armor pinch those melons? Secondly, a woman is more then breast tissue, why make that the focus? Sheesh folks, it's just fat, muscle, and glands. Put nipples on an arse and you have almost the same thing .

Large chested ? lol

I would be happy if that would be the only problem.

Besides, BG, BG2, KotoR, NWN ... name the Bioware title and check the size of women breasts in them: always abundance there.

The problem with DA character body models is that they're unnatural and ugly. I cant believe how bulky they look. Especially the shoulders are a complete pain. Thats not how real shoulders look like !

My biggest problem is the hands. They are waaaaaay oversized.

I can understand cutting down on the body models. But you'd think there'd be enough time to get those right then.

If we're going to get into the realistic technicalities of armour, I couldn't freely swap armour sets between Sten and Alistair either (or Alistair and the character to the left of this post), as they're quite different sizes, and presumably any material hard enough to be classed as massive armour requires more than a little stretching to fit someone other than whoever it was intended for. Suits of armour for females would have to have a barrel-like shape enclosing the chest area - because a form-fitting design wouldn't avert blows, like armour is supposed to, it would cause almost every blow aimed at the torso region to connect squarely with the poor girl's sternum. So, no, the melons wouldn't be pinched if the armour was made with a female wearer in mind.

I believe that the cook at Arl Eamonn's Denerim pad has a fat arse.

That is all.

The problem isn't quite that they all share the same model, it's that they all share the same animation rig. So you end up with a female model being wider in the shoulders and narrower in the hips because they have the same rig as the male models. This is my understanding, anyhow -- I am not an animator.

How about the shoulder pads on the armor? I keep waiting for them (meaning different characters)  to stab themselves mersilessly on those huge things.

Would explain why they walk like guys as well....
That was the only thing that actually put me off - the walking like a guy part.

I think it is because it is US made that it is like that to be honest... seen some euro games here and there where it is a bit of a mix. for diversity.

If you undress both Leliana and Morrigan (both being humans) then you would see there body is pretty much 100% identical, except the tan is a bit different.

I actually like that they don't walk differently.  You don't mince about in full plate, and when trudging through fields you don't mince around either. :P

I... I didn't find them THAT large chested. Besides, most of them wear pretty modest clothes, so... I don't see any issue about their bosom.
