Something to the effect of; Hey did Bioware just flip me off??

Turns out they did...

Holo snotling sez they have to use machines to kill organics so organics won't be killed by machines????
Trillions of lives snuffed out and entire planets  devastated and Holo snotling tells us its to prevent chaos????????

I originally thought that BW gave the writing job to a comittee of 8 year olds and told them to get profound. I then realized that it would have made more sense if they had given to a bunch of 8 year olds.

I have to conclude that the writing team was channeling Ed Wood....

Damn, Bioware just flipped me off!!!!

"Damn that beam. I should have dodged it."

"What I rolled to the side. Oh well, I ****ed up one or two times with dodging the beam of the destroyer at Rannoch. Ok, one more time."

"The ****. I definately dodged it this time. Ok, maybe I am not supposed to dodge it."

"That was it, I am still going... kind of."

"A some more enemies. Three headshots in a row, take that husks! But why were they moving in slow-motion? Anyway on to the beam!"

"**** a maurader and I have no armor and only this crappy pistol. Also why can't I use any of my powers? I just hope there is no banshee lying in wait for me while I am in this messy state."

"Ok, no Banshee and I made it to the Citadel somehow. Wait Anderson is up here too? I thought I remember chatter from the radio that nobody made it to the beam. But now both Anderson and me are up here? Well ok..."

"So he is not where I am, but he is in a corridor that looks like the one I am in. Maybe the two corridors meet somewhere?"

"Ahh there he is. Wait there is only one corridor leading up to that platform he is standing on. How did he get there if he wasn't in my corridor? Anyway. let's have a chat with him."

"The Illusive Man, totally forgot about him. Damn looks changed and somehow he seems to be able to control me... and Anderson too?!"

"Ok this feels a lot like the Saren scene from ME1. And like in the Saren scene I can talk the villain into commiting suicide. Actually, that is fine with me."

"Goodbye Anderson. RIP."

"Crucible is not working? Damn. Figure it out Shep!"

"Oh ****, can't figure out what to do. And what is going on now? How is there an elevator in front of the console and were is it taking me?"

"That child again? What? Where am I?"

"The child is the catalyst or is it just what Shepard's mind envisions? There goes me thinking that Shepard might be the catalyst - unless he is talking to himself now."

"What is it talking about? Solution? To what problem? I just made peace between Quarians and Geth. Shepard will give this thing a reality check, I am sure."

"**** I remember this from somewhere. Right, this is the Deus Ex: Human Revolution ending all over again. Only in DE:HR it kinda made sense. At least I knew Eliza from earlier in the game and the choices were also reflected in the rest of the game and therefore matched its overall theme. Who or what is that child again? Oh ****, BioWare!"

"So what am I supposed to do here? Destroy every sythetic in the galaxy including EDI and the Geth and what not (what qualifies as synthetic anyway?)? Not really what I want, I just want to kill the reapers, why can't I do that instead? Control sounds OK I guess, maybe a way to send them back to dark space and make them commit mass suicide there - or something like that. Of course this means Shepard will die. So no blue children and a very unhappy Liara. Not really what I want, but I guess it is the best overall solution. (didn't consider Synthesis then)"

"That looks painful. (watching Shepard desintegrate; didn't notice his changed eyes then)"

"Ok, so the Reapers are gone. Now what? The Mass Relays are going boom? What?! Doesn't that mean that all the starsystems that have one are also gone? (later realized that starchild told me about it and that I had no say in the matter as it is the same in all endings; still didn't figure out what happened to the starsystems after the Relay explosions)"

"The Normandy? What? Where is it going? How are Garrus and Liara on the Normandy, when they were with me in the final assault? How is Liara smiling when she just lost Shepard (LI)?! Really interested in this explanation. (still thinking there would be more coming, like an actual epilogue or at least... well..something)"

"Credits? WTF?! Did I skip something? Surely there will be an explanation as to what happened? I mean... wtf? What happened to my other Squadmates, the ones that did not climb out of the Normandy? And why the **** were Garrus and Liara on the Normandy?! And why was it flying away? And what happend to Grunt, Wrex, Samara, Miranda, Jack, Zaeed, Tali ... anybody from the last three games? [Sustitute for more open questions]"

"Hmm, an old man with a child talking about THE Shepard? Wait is that supposed to be the planet the Normandy crash-landed on? [substitute for even more questions]"

----

Something like that I think... most importantely: WTF?! The hell I will! Why? No way. What? **** you! WTF?!11

Later I went to youtube to figure out what I had missed, just to find that I hadn't missed a thing. That kinda depressed me... and that was before I started to question the agenda of the starchild, the reason for its existence or its purpose story-wise....

Conduit run: Oh, hi there, Harbinger, how’s it going? We are not having the conversation about true power again, are we?

Being hit and getting up: omgwtf, they killed my squad!

The limp to Anderson: well. They killed my squad, including my LI, I guess that’s it. Should have known.

TIM rambling: Can I shoot him please? Anytime soon? Come on, interrupt, I know you’re there! Now? Maybe now? He’s still talking… Oh, thank you, finally!

“Best seats in the house”: Well, that was quite a ride.

“Shepard? Commander?”: Ok… now what?

Elevator: Oooh, I see, plot twist incoming at mach 5.

Starkid: Alt+Tab to Word, furious typing for five minutes. Will not quote, contains invectives in two languages. Limp right, shoot a tube.

Normandy: wait, what? Okay, Joker, thank you for getting their asses out, but… Wait. That is not a stranded on an uninhabited planet scenario, is it? Because…

Credits: Okay. That was… I’m not sure what that was. Need to get the dextros off that jungle asap, they were mid-jump, so with any luck they are between Earth and what’s the nearest Relay, Arcturus? Right, was there any mention of conventional FTL speed? Wait, what about the dextros in Sol? Did the quarians bring lifeships? Well. I guess worst case scenario is a couple hundred years of isolation before they rebuild relays, but I need to check that FTL speed, maybe they can reestablish travel without relays…

Stargazer: Never mind.

I was in so much shock I did not realize you had to actually walk over to the option you wanted. I instead just walked straight and got the synthesis ending.

Honestly after the leak response, I was expecting much worse.

In my first playthrough, the ending was a bit confusing, but after putting some thought into it I realized that the ending was OK but was just horribly executed.

When it didn't include an epilogue I kind of got a stomach ache and felt depressed, almost suicidal really...
Like everything I did really didn't matter. I just wasted more than 300 euros for nothing other than broken promises.
I'm just I had my boyfriend, but he's also a ME fan, so he was feeling the same thing I was.

I don't really think much when emotional. I just remember emotions and utter disbelief.

Disbelief. Utter disbelief. thought it must be a joke. That I had done something wrong. That there was something wrong with my disc. Anything.

IT just made so little sense to me that I thought this can't be the end. When it finally sunk in. I thought one thing NO NO NO. This will not stand. Since then i've been doing one thing.

Holding the Line for a CHANGE to the ending NOT a clarification. You can't "clarify" away the insane circular logic of the star child.

Honestly, it almost makes me wonder if the company tanked the ending on purpose to get back at everyone for the leak, like a two-year old breaking its toys.

I'm not actually suggesting this happened, mind. Just idle SPECULATION.

That's not really the end ... right?

After the Buzz Aldrin part ^ this ^.

Before that: "But. . . I ended the war with the Geth. . . And found out the war was started by the Quarians to begin with. . . And my pilot is romantic involved with a machine. . . and I can't argue these points at all!!!"

I think stuff, maybe IQ points, actually came out of my brain and just sort of hovered awkwardly in front of my eyes before disappearing forever as I 'played' the endgame and watched the ending.

Honestly my first thought was that there was clearly a bug where they had missed out content, I came to the forum here expecting to see a sticky or something labelled "Missing Ending! Download patch!" It's been a sad few weeks since then.

I'm still not sure if what I saw was real, or if somehow somewhere there is a Bioware dev about to realise that we all got shipped a dud copy that missed 2/3 of the cinematics and actual choices we could make to show them. This would explain how they seem completely unable to see it from our perspective (i.e. most people think its completely and utterly crap)

I also thought it wasn't so bad also, however, I also shot at Catalyst after it laid out the 3 choices. Eventually, I figured I couldn't kill it, tried walking off the edge of area, shot at him again. Then I started shooting randomly and then finally accepted things. Basically, I was in a wt.. moment. I made my choice accidentally choosing the wrong one because the colors had reversed. Yea, I wasn't paying attention to the starkid because I was like what the! Eventually, I accepted the ending at first, I thought it was a "spiritual" end to the mass effect series and kind of liked it until I reloaded and tried my intended choice...

No more conspiracy theories. lol the ending was not botched on purpose...no company intentionally shoots themselves in the foot like this. Honestly this whole thing stinks of deadlines and rush job to me. The game is great up till the final scenes after the final Cerberus fight. From that point on it feels very rushed. If BioWare had another few months to work on the game, I bet we would have had a better ending.
