I've tried to play DA II once but didn't manage it. I got to Act III, saving Bethany quest.
People who replay games are strange.

How is DAII as a Video Game: I had fun with the combat and I think it is a good video game.
As an RPG: Ah, that's different. Probably not as good as an RPG but it has Stats and abilities. you change your sex, and appearance so that part is good compared to some other games.
How does DAII compare to DAO: I think it isn't quite as good as DAO.

Yes, I think DAII is not really as good as DAO, but I just can't tell why. Something about RPGs...
PS: haha is it so hard to understand the title? Well, I've finished the DAO campaign many, many times, more times than I can count. But I've never been able to finish my second playthrough for DAII. I was just wondering why. Like you said, the game isn't so bad.

Diablo, for example, I played through about three times. Skyrim I couldn't finish because I'm a completionist and I got exhausted trying to do everything. The original Deus Ex I've played twice. Vampire: Bloodlines I've started playing several times, but I always stop near the end when the combat gets tedious.

DA2, I played about... five, six times in quick succession. But the novelty has worn off now, and I have other games to play. Also, a ****ton of school assingments. I still haven't played the DLCs because of that.

After awhile, I convinced myself to buy an xbox. I had DA:O, so I played it again on my new (refurbished) xbox (Dalish Warden). I was bored and had no other games, so I started another playthrough, my now-canon playthrough, the City Elf Warden. I went ahead and played Awakening with him, too.
Finally, I broke down and bought DA2 for myself. I imported my City Elf playthrough and haven't replayed DA:O since.
Since then, I've replayed and completed DA2 I think six times on my own, and a few more times on my brother-in-law's xbox.
I don't mind DA:O, but I find the voiceless protagonist a real turn off, plus a couple of the quests are ridiculously long and boring.
DA2 is definitely the better game for me, but obviously YMMV.

Well, I see that we have a lot in common haha. Except that I've never
played the original Deus Ex, I basically I did all the things you said,
especially Skyrim. I completed all guild missions and so many side
missions that there was really no point replaying. (My Breton character
has practically become a deity in the game, 100% resistance to magic for
example)

I think it's easier to replay rpgs if you enjoy the whole "experience" rather than mainly playing for the story. I like playing as an adventurer and being the hero of the story. Also, I usually find rpg combat fun, as I like building a character from scratch and then going off to kill the bad guys, slowly developing into some kind of super-warrior. When I start a new playthrough, usually after a break, I get to relive the journey all over again.

It also doesn't help that both stories are still too fresh in my head.

DA2, I did a mage playthough and a rouge playthrough. Mainly, I wanted a save with Carver and Beth living. Also playing as a mage and rogue was so very entertaining, After that, I hated the game because of it falling so short of what it could of been. I recently played through it a couple months ago as a mage, with heavy modding. Than, I couldn't resist, so I played through half of it with a female protagonist for the very first time, and just got to the third Act last night.
DAO - 3
DA2 - almost 4
I will never play either of them again without mods.
Off topic, but now that I think about it, my female Hawke was never hit on by Fenris or Anders, yet my male Hawke was hit on every time during my first 3 playthroughs. Strange.

Agreed. I've replayed a few games in my time, but RPG always start grinding on me when I replay them.
I think, think, I've replayed DA:O twice fully. I've tried to replay it loads of times though and tend to lose interest around the deep roads (because it's sooo long).
DA2 I've had more sucess with, simply because it's shorter and I wanted to try out all the dialogue/romances, so I got through it 3 times fully. And I'm on a fourth playthrough now because I want to try out the DLC Legacy (which I still haven't finished) and for some reason, I must of deleted my completed saves, so I have to start again.
I only really replay games once it's been a good 6 months - 2 years since I've played them to be honest.
It's the same with books, I can never re-read books nor can I understand people who do.

This, a thousand times this. I always end up downloading a bundle of mods before I replay either (assuming I deleted the mods off my computer at some points - which I always do).

But then again, I don't find "entertainment" in flashiness or simplistic (you can read this as (overly) "customer-friendly") games, nor am I interested in romances only for the sake of stating them or seeing cut-scenes (I am interested only in the choices, and the encouraged thinking process behind creating my character through them - be it romance or otherwise - in one word, involvement (and poetry)) so maybe I'm not the target audience. Anyways, DA2 (and consequent playing of ME 1&2) took away all my interest in Bioware games, and I'm not motivated anymore to re-start the alts in Origins (I get a bit sad playing it right now).
So I never really completed any of my (more than ten) characters in Origins, save the first, main one.

I enjoy the combat, exploration, and various adventuring aspects of a rpg, in addition to the story. These parts help me feel more immersed and involved in the game, and I don't just play to see what happens next. My playthroughs tend to be longer than the norm, as I'm not in any real hurry to get everything done with, as I'm enjoying the adventure.

DA O is by far the superior game, and has more replayability charm to it. I find it vexing when people say they 'get bored' with DAO or that DAO drags. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that 99% of people who say this are console players, who are (even though they might not know it) more criticizing the port of DAO than the actual game. And I'm not a PC player myself, I've never played a PC game in my life, but I see the beauty behind the somewhat unstable port of DAO to consoles. It's still a masterpiece on any playform and that's saying something.
I will admit I do find myself getting bored with DA2 sometimes though: Oh, another fed-ex quest. Oh great another group of enemies. Kill them. Walk 30 feet. Another wave of enemies. Kill them. Delivery message or package or rescue somebody etc. Collect my reward. Find another fed-ex quest. Repeat.
It's not a bad game but it's not great either, and definitely lacks the replayability that Origins had.
