Even if the DLC ending fixes every cimplaint you have, will you still feel differently about the series and Bioware?

I honestly don't think they can address the ending with just the cutscenes and epilogue that they've stated the DLC will contain. They've written themselves into a corner with the deus ex machina; it's just bloody silly to introduce a entirely new plot construct in the part of the story that should be about resolving the loose ends.

I imagine the DLC will resolve a few of the more obvious plot-holes, but I doubt they'll address the underlying problems around them. For example, I can easily envisage them adding a custcene of a burnt-out mass relay next to a clearly living planet, to emphasise that the ending didn't cause them all to go nova .. but I don't think they'll address Shepard's seemingly advanced knowledge of this outcome (as far as he knows, blowing up a relay = nova .. like in Arrival), or his meek acceptance of the catalyst's logic behind it.

If that happened, I would feel better about Bioware than ever before.  It would prove that Bioware is a company of the fans, for the fans.  Okay, maybe not every mistake would have to be corrected, but you can't please 100% of the people all the time.

Sadly, it doesn't look like anything close to that is going to happen.

It's is impossible to fix every complaint. It isn't just about closure, all that 3 endings and the starchild are random, they make no sense, they don't fit.
The DLC will be just like a dissertation on ''why there is a hair on your soup''.

If a fairy came down and sprinkled the ending DLC with pixie dust and it gave me everything that I was hoping for [and conformed to BW's prelaunch statements] I would indeed feel much better about the series and would "play the crap out of it".

In terms of new BW games though I think that I'll just wait to their GOTY editions and buy those if the critics and fans and what I can tell of the story / setting / etc. appeals to me. No more preorders. No more blind faith.

The general consensus seems to be 'it would fix the franchise but not the developer' here.

Of course I'll still feel differently. Any way you feel about an ex-girlfriend who has redeemed herself and now you're back together with her again.

... What?

Do you mean that in the sense of 'what's been said and done can't be taken back' or...?

IF they do indeed fix the problems with the ending and provide a coherent, satisfying conclusion to the series, I will be very grateful and I will be willing to give Bioware another chance with their future products.

That being said, I will still be approaching their games with a much more cautious eye. My trust in them will be revived, but not restored to what it once was.

No. If it fixes everything wrong then that means they worked hard to deliver what the fans asked for, for free.

I'll forever be wary of anything made by BW, and much more so by anything associated to Hudson and Co, not just because the super-hype, but their absence and the offensive PR double speak.

If this DLC ends up making the ending bearable again then I will be pleased. If not, by the time it comes out I'm sure there will be something else to take my time until if nothing else, DA3.

If they were to fix this, I would feel happy, it would be tough for me not to think "it's about time!"

I don't know how I'm gonna feel about Bioware at the end of this or 6 months from now. My confidence in them has been shattered by this mess.

I'm torn. IF, and this is a big if, the extended cut fixes the endings I will forgive bioware and actually give them a lot of credit for listening to the fans and doing something they didn't want to do and make it right. I doubt that will happen but I'm holding out hope.

So if they make it right I will remain a loyal fan. I may even try out starwars (was wanting to but refuse to try it right now as i'm boycotting buying bioware products). I really want to get da3 because unlike most people here I really didnt have a problem with da2. I mean I thought the game didn't make much sense after playing DA:O I was expecting it to have more to do with the darkspawn and greywardens but even then I enjoyed the game. Was pissed that I couldn't keep Bethany with me the entire game. I was looking forward to DA3 but now, even if Bioware fixes this, I will not be buying DA3 until it's been out for awhile.

That's a pretty huge "IF".
Since their not changing the ending, just adding extra cinematics to 3 broken endings to "clarify" what transpired.

I guess we'll see what they slap together in a few months.

Ill never pre order a bioware game again. If fans give good feedback (screw reviewers) then i'll buy it. If its another multi part series, well, ill wait till the last ones out. I just lost my faith.

I'd feel differently about mass effect. The extended Ed might give me a reason to see my infil renegade through campaign. The MP DLC might get me back online if they fix the fps and freezing issues for the ps3.

But as far as Bioware and EA go... I was tempted to explore The DA series after ME2. In hindsight to this ordeal, I probably won't. Even EA titles I'm a fan of, like Dead Space, I will wait longer and be more skeptical of before purchasing it. While I appreciate the fanservice they are doing in extending the ending and giving free DLC, I will remain skeptical. The damage there has been done.

The free MP DLC sort of levels out how I felt about the arrival DLC being on disk and requiring a one line edit to unlock for the PC. Bioware's attempt to fix the endings is appreciated but it just underscores how shallow and broken it was in comparison to the rest of the series. The day 1 DLC made me feel "nickel and dimed," the ending left me depressed and the general subpar experience on the PS3 in comparison to xbox or the PC has also hampered my trust.

Right now I have more faith in Bestheda, who released another buggy game on the PS3. At least that game is patched and fps/freezing free for me (finally...) and has a reasonable conclusion. And a skeptic I will remain because of titles like ME3 and skyrim...

If (and that is a big if) the DLC addresses all the complaints and leaves me feeling satisfied, I will return to calling myself a Bioware fan. I may be angry at Bioware right now, but I will be more than happy to forgive them if they attempt to make amends.

However, my trust in them has been damaged. Trust is hard to earn and even harder to gain back once its been broken, so there will be some lingering doubt whenever I hear Bioware hype up its games again. Bioware (or more accurately, Casey Hudson) lied to its fans and they also left a key element out of the game when it shipped, so it will take time for them to fully gain my respect back. I hope that Bioware will someday soon go back to being one of my most idolized video-game companies.

This was the first game I ever pre-ordered a Collectors Edition for and honestly in the end I was very disappointed with the game as a whole. Before its release, I paid attention to every single last news story about ME3 and often read the same new's stories on different sites. I purposefully did not read any leaked info because I really wanted to enjoy this game as a clean slate. My issue was how rushed the game felt and how did not even come close to the game Bioware said they were crafting. I finished the game once with my main, a paragon, and I can not even bring myself to even start my renegade because none of his choices matter.

In the end, I am not trusting ANY game company anymore, not just Bioware. In fact, I know people who have given up on gaming as a whole because of the obvious greedy direction the industry is going.

So long Bioware, you got your $80, but alas you shall get no more!

The greed reason is why I'm walking away.  I have a newborn son and my time is better spent with him.  I have an xbox in three rooms of my house and use it as entertainment devices, but the drm is annoying.  Then leaked messages state they aren't even going to allow rented games.  I won't buy a single next gen system and if I buy a game from now on the current systems it will be used.  IF THE GAMING INDUSTRY IMPLODES WHO CARES!

At this point they have done it to themselves by being more concerned with profits then giving the consumer a good product.  Games are chopped up like me3 was to sell them in pieces, and they are full of bugs just like me3 also.

I will not feel the same, but in a more positive sense.

I didnt HATE the endings like so many here, but I found them a bit lacking, and I am really impressed that Bioware is considering our feedback so important that they are willing to use money & time to make it better, at no expense to us.

If I wasnt a Bioware fan before, I sure as hell am one now.

Same here

No. Because I will act like only the three games, the books, and the comics ever happened. Everything after ME3 I will not even acknowledge. ME4? What is this madness you speak of?

Meh no. If it does fix everything, that means that Bioware made a mistake, heard our cries, and decided to fix things. But from my perspective, it doesn't really look like that's how things are going...

It wouldn't feel the same as it would if it had been there from the beginning. The result would be somewhat bittersweet, since I would remember what had come before.

Though honestly, that would rather fit the series, in a meta-sort of way.

Yep, bioware is not same company for me anymore.
Luckily there are still some other great companies, so it's not a problem.
And now it's not even about the endings.
It's about lies.
