It's like Bioware just didn't care in ME3. It's unpolished and glitches abound (like getting stuck in the cockpit when you're talking to Joker and EDI.)

The muliplayer is garbage.

The only good songs, that aren't recycled from the other games, are depressing Emo piano songs.

Watered down dialog between squadmates.

And I don't get to shove Diana Chobot out the airlock and watch her pudgy face explode.

I suspect that many players who consider ME3 to be worse game than ME2 simply hate ME3 ending, so ME3 will always be bad for them no matter how much they enjoyed it until the end...

for me ME 2 is the overall best game of the series. heres why:
1. my sheps face from me1 carried over
2. the squad mates and their stories were FAR better, i felt a deeper connection with them
3. the suicide mission finale was SPECTACULAR. all those tough choices throughout the game and final mission played out in a very dramatic conclusion
4. the ending was actually satisfying and made me want more

Yeah this, coupled with the fact that autodialogue in ME2 didn't run roughshod over my own Shep. In ME3 there's far too much of their canon view of Shep in evidence.

5. This may just be me, but ME2 seemed to have more content.

True, though you should really try playing Multiplayer during your SP playthrough, it really helps and even contributes to the story.

I think Mass Effect 3 has a better main quest but that's it. In the first two games exploration would lead to sidequests, whether you did it in a vehicle or by scanning planets. In ME3 these were fetch quests and you get no accomplishment for exploring the galaxy. I feel like after my first playthrough I did absolutely everything because the few sidequests that existed were handed to me on a plate.

They also stripped the biggest RPG feature of all, which is choice. I do not like the huge amounts of auto-dialog and even when you get a conversation wheel it's only two moral options and one invetsigate option (if you're lucky). These are the two reasons why I think ME2 and ME1 are better than ME3.
