Why can we see mutilated genitals, but our LIs are covered up?

Are you guys really mad you don't get to see boobs in a video game? If it means that much to you this is the internet which houses more porn then anyone person can hope to see in a life time.

I doubt most players really just want to see nudity. Personally I am just puzzled that Bioware censored Traynor and Ash, while Liara roams around nude.

They specifically angled the camera to avoid showing nudity anyway, why tack on underwear? And not even different underwear for different characters. Everyone has the same underwear. Ash wears the same brand and model as Shepard, who wears the same brand and model as Traynor, who wears it into the shower for no good reason...

But kept the bathroom door opened the entire time.

WTF.

I'm just annoyed that everything is censored now adays. It's like people higher up in society are trying to mask our devious human nature. It doesn't seem right to me, to be living in a shroud of lies and sugarcoatedness. We must embrace insanity and leave nothing hidden!!!

I have to agree there's no good reason why nudity isn't in it but pretty much everything else is.

Do what Code Geass does, or Watchmen (though to be fair it would be understandable if they didn't want to show genitalia) and not really bring attention to it. Sure they're naked, but it's not that big a deal I mean they did just have sex.

Nudity for the sake of nudity doesn't do much to improve a game but if you want the game to feel realistic then you either need to go all the way or remove the love scenes altogether.

That's because people would be looking forward more in the epic sex scene rather than the supposedly epic ending.

If it wasn't bad enough when Bioware oversexualized all of the female characters as the series cruised along, nudity would just send things to a whole other disrespectful level! They seriously made every female character have a perfect *ss and DDs! I might have had an easier time respecting the female characters in the series, as well as the legitimacy for a demand of more mature, graphic love scenes if they had given the female characters more tactful and normal body proportions and clothing, thus making the occurrence of nudity during sex scenes more of a visualization of the character's relationship with each other and not just eye candy for teenagers.

Just FYI, I am not against nudity in any form of media or art, including videogames. I just believe it would be better for the societal portrayal of women if companies like Bioware took a more real world/grounded portrayal of love and relationships in their videogames rather than just make them an output for sexual fantasies about really hot women.

I don't see why there's no middle ground between "showering with underwear on" and "30 minutes of explicit sex".

Do you seriously consider that by implying Traynor showers naked (ie. remove her underwear but not showing her full frontal), there needs to be a subsequent lesbian sex scene comparable to say, "Bound"?

I do find it kind of interesting that Heavy Rain almost had full frontal nudity for both male and female characters, but Heavy Rain was made by a European country (French I believe?). I am not sure why they ultimately cut it out, but Ethan Mars is not a Ken doll.

That picture is just confusing to me out of context. It looks like some kind of cave from Fable III.

Uh... What epic ending? The one where Citadel opens up and a tiny shaft docks with its ring?

Then the climax occurs and a wave of expanding energy blows forth knocking out the Normandy from behind?

That epic ending?

The Crucible was pretty phallic... I mean not quite as phallic as if H.R. Giger had designed it, but pretty close.

So is Omega. I have a theory it's because Casey Hudson is drawn to the shape of d***s, seeing as he is one.

If we actually lived in a society where any kind of privacy existed...America literally has sex, drugs, and violence at every turn, but we believe that if we prevent it from going into a video game we have prevented the next generation of sexually charged deviants.

Obviously that's not working. My theory: Exploit something viewed as "bad" in society as much as possible and maybe people will get over it, get sick of it, and stop doing it.

i meant that if we had a society where any kind of sexual repression existed it would make sense to censor things...but as a society that happily engages in our "desires" while holding up a big middle finger to anyone who disagrees it makes almost no sense to censor some ******.

For some reason, in American media violence is more appropriote than sex.  It's screwy when you think about it, but there you go.  I know Mass Effect was made in Canada, but anything that wants to be successful in America has to follow those rules of decency.

And Bioware has plausible deniability with the Banshees.  Maybe we're not seeing what we think we're seeing, we're just seeing... something else.

i like to add that, i think its because most americans fail to see that the us is historically and culturally a militaristic people. just think about, we're in war every 25 years or so and the past 60 year's weve been engaged in non stop war. its just the way it is over here. so its no surprise when you can head shot someone and see their brains splatter on the wall but its really not ok when we some bareskin. im not trying to start an argument - just adding some input.

Perhaps they wear underwear in the shower in the future?

There is a middle ground. There has to be. It is funny though to think that you can imply characters are about to have sex but they must keep their underwear on.

not sure if the game designers were thinking lets make genitals with this banshee? Culturally nudity is looked as being disgusting and sinful, I be very blunt but thanks to the religious nuts in the world. Nudity is shamefully looked at being wrong!

Yet the same religious people can send their sons and daughters to go to war and get shot and blown to peices? Yet they view the human body as being repulsive?

Now I can say I am very Anti Chirstian and mostly anti religion. I think religion is very corrupted and makes nudity as being this awful thing? Sorry you were born naked. If nudity was awful than you would be born with cloths on from the getgo!

I say once religion is gone than nudity will be looked as being normal!

Well I'm Christian and I'm against the censoring of anything. Everyone has to experience this kind of crap at some point in their lives. There is no point in censoring everything, because we're going to see it eventually. Censorship is wrong. It just leaves the world in the dark, and in the misconception that perfection is possible and innocence exists.

you are not Christian. It is so funny how todays Christians adapt a new kind of morality or way of thinking than those in the past generations. They excuse the morality in the bible as being past tense and not the way the Christians think today!

Like evolution, Christianity had to adapt to survive. Many Christians were against science and thought it was of the devil. Yet when science proved more than what the bible was saying. LIke proving the universe was 13.5 billion years old than the suggested 6000 year old earth that many creationist believed they started to jump on the bandwagon and invented Christian Science. Excuse me what is christian science?

Sorry if this offends but I find it disgusting that we still have people thinking that nudity shouldn't be shown but they go through a game blowing and killing people! Like you take the game of Call of Duty. Many Christians would support that game because it is being patriotic. Supporting the nation that God is defending! Yet you throw some nudity in the game and it becomes a public uproar!

If any religious person takes their morality over their religious book filled with violence and rape and everything disgusting should have their head examine!

I give it another 100 years that people can put nudity in a game without having it turn into some pervese idea!

Now watch the tides turn!
