No Prothean MP characters please(unless there's an absolutely amazing free SP DLC to explain it)

Won't happen though, both for gameplay and technical issues that BioWare will not want to deal with.

Bringing in protheans as a playable MP race would not make sense, and I hope BW never does it. I know BW could make it make sense, but it would still be bad regardless.

Because there's only one alive in the entire universe and therefore fielding a few thousand protheans makes no sense whatsoever.
Please come up with more original ideas for DLC.
I backhanded the quarians into extinction in my playthrough, and you're giving me a multiplayer with Quarians in it? Bosh'tet, please. Remove the quarians from multiplayer, and then I'll see about supporting an anti-prothean multiplayer movement.
1. That's only in your playthrough, not everyones.
2. That's at the later stage of the game. The MP stuf could easily be taking place before that point in the story.

I agree.
I prefer the multiplayer to stay lore adjacent
One word: clones. See also: Collectors.
Clones don't exsist in the ME universe beyoned Shepard do they?
And that seems rather lame.
I believe there's a tale of a certain firm-assed Cerberus cheerleader and her much younger identical twin sister to contradict you there.
I support Protheans in MP. Lots of workarounds in lore, plus I would love to have Death Field biotics

How do you explain Geth as teammates then?

I have a much harder time explaining that and justicars. Because those both take place after tuchanka. I guess for geth you could argue that many joined your side in the fight before priority rannoch was finished. you know after the consensus mission.AxisEvolve wrote...

If Bioware made a mission in Singleplayer mission where a Prothean Research Outpost was discovered with a Prothean team was discovered frozen would it fix the complaining?

The whole point of the MP is making it make sense. They put a lot of work into making it make sense. Adding protheans would not make any sense, because they are an extinct race with only one survivor. The only thing they could do is make some separate MP where you can only play protheans and fight their war, which still doesn't make much sense at all. That or they would have to retcon Protheans back from extinction. Which would be a mistake.

Large parts of Multi-player don't make sense, like why Geth are in Cerberus bases, and why would an elite N7 team be sent to clear Geth from a Cerberus base, and why were Geth on Palavens moon? To make multiplayer make sense you have to make up scenarios in your head and pretend you're playing them out. Is it too much of a stretch for 4 Protheans to be discovered in another Prothean bunker?

Prequel missions.
I like that idea too, as an additional game mode, but the down-side of it is it limits Protheans to only certain maps and that game mode.

Your first mistake is trying to fit MP into the lore and story. It doesn't, so dont' try.

Not really, no. It's just utilizing the in game enemies and the in game allies. In in game locations.

Because none of the Mass Effect storyline until now has featured any sort of retcon...

So while it's just utilizing game enemies, and in-game allies, why not include another in-game ally, Prothean? Multi-player barely makes sense with lore, the fact you have Cerberus and Geth on maps that they never appeared on in Single-player shows that at most it's only loosely following the story-line. Why limit the multi-player experience?

There were hundreds of Prothean storage facilities dotted across the galaxy, there could be many more Protheans out there. If people are already making up scenarios in their head about why Geth are in Cerberus bases or Palavens Moon, is it too much that they "pretend" that more Protheans were found at another dig-site? If Bioware added a footnote or a DLC planet where a Prothean outpost was found, with the preserved Prothean team still in stasis, would it bother you seeing them in multi-player? Or maybe Bioware simply tell you that another station was found?
