I have been unable to get online with Origin for the last 3-4 days.  Now it's giving me this error and I am not even able to log on.

My internet is fine.  And I have tried every troubleshooting "solution" i could find on the internet without success.

Anyone else having the same problem?  I just want to know if it's just me or some server issue.

Can you get to any sites that use SSL? If not make sure the date on your computer is set correctly.

I have been having the same issue since about Wednesday of last week. I cant get Origin to log me in but every other website/mmo/steam works as fast as it ever has.

Looks like there was some sort of deep issue with my internet connection.

Not sure what it did but after doing the commands outlined in this post and restarting my computer I was able to log into origin again.

I am unfortunately not smart enough to know what SSL means.

If you have gmail or something and tried to get to it, it would give you an error.

My account login email is a gmail address.  Is that seriously the reason?  Because that is unbelieveably stupid if it is.

I want to thank EA for making the game unplayable now.

No, gmail (the actual site) uses SSL.
If you try accessing your gmail account, it would give you an error if there was an SSL problem.
Account login being gmail doesn't matter.

Oooo.  Well I could access my Gmail account just fine.  Game's still unplayable.

Origin is crap.  And EA is useless.

And regarding the link,  I unfortunately still use XP, so it won't really work for me.

I'm getting that message mid-match. Got kicked out of a few Wave 9-11 Gold Matches. It just started happening today, other multiplayer games are fine.

I have solved the solution for myself. I noticed a Security Certificate popping up every now and then. Quickly reading through it I clicked "Yes" to continue.

After a while and still no luck I looked into it much deeper, and found out the certificate was about java. I tried re-installing and still no luck. I went onto the java forums and found that if the date is set incorrectly it will lead to this certificate error. I checked my system date and, everything was set right... except it was two months ahead... I reset it to the correct date and sure enough it fixed the problem and now I can log back into Origin.

In short, make sure your system time is set correctly.
