And sometimes you don't have to accept that which can and should be changed.  If they don't change it then bioware is doomed to the garbage heap and we don't want that either.

if i bought my son a toy and on the box it said this toy says 17 different phrases, and then it turns out it is just three different phrases and there all pretty much the same except for one word change, then i would exchange it for the one they promised, how is me complaining that they didnt do what they said they would my fault?

There is plenty of us who are not demanding them fix the ending, but just pointing out all the bad with the ending and how it was written.  I have yet to "rage", I'm debating the merit of the ending.  If you think the idea behind the crucible/starbrat/A,B,C endingsare bad, expanding on those endings isnt going to all the sudden make us og...OOOHHHH now I get it, unless there is a massive twist to the ending, on the IT scale.

If there were another steakhouse that had the history of performance as Bioware we'd be there.  Since we know bioware is capable of making good games, we will continue to urge them to do so.  If you don't like it then cut your losses and go home.

BioWare basically replied to our complaints about the terrible ending by saying: "You just couldn't comprehend our genius. The ending must have been too deep and philosophical for you. You'll like it once you get it. That's why we're releasing this extended cut of the ending which changes nothing but explains it all in small words even you can understand. While you're waiting for that, why don't you buy some consumable items for multiplayer which disappear after a single use?"

actually id send a letter to the company head and then the BBB if i wasnt satisfied, because i would feel screwed and it only right that they make it right. also if they would rather us not buy there games then they wouldnt put up a forum asking us to tell them why we hated the ending

so your saying that just because you lack the will to fight for your rights we should all accept the facts the way you do. 

More importantly, you're suggesting that everyone who hated the ending just leave Bioware to never come back, the same way you'd do to de restaurant. What good does it? Bioware don't get money and we don't get good games. Everybody loses.

People say that retakers are whiny brats, but for me it's the opposite.

For me a whiny brat is someone who stays quiet when someone mistreats him, and say that things are not worth his effort (note: this last statement is no directed to anybody in specific)

We were promised steak and were given hamburger, we asked them to fix it, and they came back with a bigger hamburger. It's still not the steak we were promised.

A bad analogy in this case you can never turn spam into a steak so you explaining how it tastes good is irrelevant, you can however reprogram a video game quite extensively and not just explain why your bad ending was good.

They could make all sorts of additions to the ending without fundamentally "changing" it.

For instance what if they made the starchild Harbinger instead, changed the dialogue and gave you 3 additional options to choose from for your ending. You haven't "changed" the ending as such...just added to it but the whole context of the ending and it's possible results would change dramatically.

I'm not saying they will fix it, i'm just saying they could fix it enough that it's not total garbage and without slighting their "artistic integrity" and insistance that they are not changing it only adding.

I hope that all made some kind of sense...it's 6am here and i'm beered up and knackered.

If there were another steakhouse that had the history of performance as Bioware we'd be there.  Since we know bioware is capable of making good games, we will continue to urge them to do so.  If you don't like it then cut your losses and go home.

They made parts of a great game, it didn't live up to what was promised or advertised.  Fans also pleaded for a change and feedback was asked for.  It was ignored.  Fans next step is voting with their wallets.  As I said, we do not wish to destroy Bioware, but we will if they do not comply.  You have 10 seconds.

Not complaining, but neither am I acquiescing.

They said a lot of things about the game before it was released. A lot of it turned out to not be entirely true. They created two amazing games, yet failed miserably at the end of the third.

They have to actually do something to satisfy me. They can say whatever they want in the meantime, but it changes nothing.

It's not a threat. it a consequence. the game (thanks to a failed ending) was a betrayal. So Bioware no longer get's a free ride with no questions asked CE preorder purchases. Who are you to tell me what to do with my money?

you should be thankful they are complaining. Any other company and the fans would have just left and let the company tank. The complaints are because they care.

That goes for any forum. One thing i've noticed about people complaining on forums in General. When people complain just for the sake of complaining you can usually tell. There is no focus. Vastly different complaints that ussually are particular to that individual's tastes. But when there truely is a problem. There is a large amount of focus. Threads on different subjects are rare and the problem threads tend to get reads as well as replies very quickly.

It's not hard to see that there is a problem when you go to any forum discussing the ending to the game. There is no doubt a problem. The real question is, at PAX east, was the problem addressed? The answer seems to be a resounding no.

And I'd have to agree.
