BioWare basically replied to our complaints about the terrible ending by saying: "You just couldn't comprehend our genius. The ending must have been too deep and philosophical for you. You'll like it once you get it. That's why we're releasing this extended cut of the ending which changes nothing but explains it all in small words even you can understand. While you're waiting for that, why don't you buy some consumable items for multiplayer which disappear after a single use?"
I don't think Bioware said that...I believe IGN and some other Gaming journalists said those things. Indeed they are really the ones who started the negative dialogue in the beginning. Please correct me where I am wrong.

The best part is they're complaining with zero idea about what it is they're getting.
"Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the
end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will
expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned."
that seems pretty clear to me were not getting the 16 endings they said we would, maybe you dont know what "NO" means, but the rest of us do

Then they came out to say, rather than changing the ending like most people has asked for, they are "clarifying" it with no additional changes.
additionally, Instead of talking to their loyal fans about this plan, they just stuck a short announcement blog on the web. And at the fan convention where development teams usually talk about this kind of stuff... they didn't.
So no, I can't possibly see how people can still be angry and complaining at this point.
It's not like has talked down to their fans and quite effectively flipped them the birdy with their attitude or anything. How could it possibly be?

Not sure why anyone would be surprised.Dasher1010 wrote...
Even after we're told that we're getting an extended ending that isn't as abrupt/nonsensical? Even after the Patrick Weekes interview where he stated what could have been doen better with the ending? Even after the DLC was announced to be free? What'll it take to make the fans here happy? Will Bioware Edmonton have to go out of business after EA's stock drops and all employees be shifted over to dvelop casual mobile game spinoff of EA Sports franchises in order to sate the fanrage?
Three groups of people:
1.) Like the ending.
2.) This ending seems out of place and plot holey.
3.) All elements of ending are terrible, change all elements of ending.
Polling seems to indicate group 2 and 3 are the largest groups. Not sure which is larger, the polls I have seen have poor wording to separate 2 and 3.
A web statement notified fans BioWare will fill in details, closure, et cetera with the Extended Cut DLC. That resolution will keep groups 1 and 2 happy.
That means group 3 is upset, there is no new ending. There is a possibility that the DLC will pull some of group 3 into the fold, but group 3 isn't going to see it that way. In addition, it was never BioWare's goal to make everyone happy, before ME3 was released quotes like this were seen, "[The ending is] going to make some people extremely happy. It's going to make some people angry. "
It is what it is.

I don't have the game box with me, but does it actually say "There are 16 different endings" on the back of the box??
