Their names sure have been tied together often on this forum. But their approach to "artistic vision" and audience input is somewhat different

Bioware - "there are no canon choices, your story is canon" "lots of speculation from everyone" and just silence

Lucas - goes out of his way to clarify his own vision "han never shot first", explained "the force" to the dismay of fans

pre-"Vader NOOOOOOOOOOO", I would prefer Lucas's stance in a heart beat. Now, I have to think hard, but would still stick with Lucas.

[don't derail this into a Star-Jar-Jar thread:wizard:]

Hmmm got a lot of comparison between Starwars and ME. I was more talking about the approach Bioware and Lucas took.

Lucas seems to go out of his way to make the star wars he envisioned, if in his mind Han didn't shoot first, he just had to come out and tell everybody. Bioware has been lurking away from the lights, letting everybody speculate, and not say much at all.

As much as I see Bioware's way as a frustrating cop-out, it is possible that their extended explanation may be even worse than what we have now (hey, they already came up with starkid, )anything is possible).

Bioware. As much as they dropped the ball on the ending I personally enjoyed the series for the most part. That being said I watched Episode I today for the first time in what I want to say is 7 years and every scene with Jar Jar had me wanting to punch my screen.

Oh god, that whole "Han never shot first" debacle makes me nerd rage. >:(
I think there is still hope for Bioware, and they have a lot of incredibly talented people in their arsenal. Lucas, on the other hand, has pretty much sabotaged himself beyond repair.

George Lucas has become a charicature of himself.
It's not like I expect anything better.... I did expect better of BioWare.

It's close, but I still think Bioware is better than Lucas, since Lucas seems to be going out of his way to ruin his franchise, whereas Bioware just likes to lie about everything.

Yoda said it best. The fans feared for the fate of the galaxy after watching the ending.

And fear led to anger, anger led to hate, and hate...

Led to a donation, a bunch of cupcakes, and an indoctrination theory...

Yoda was WAY off. What was he smoking?

Wait! its late enough and im jacked up on cough syrup at the moment so this all makes sense!

Jake Lloyd played Starchild! Think about it... All that was missing was the 'Are you an angel line' when fem shep came up the lift...Right!?!?

Thats why no one like starchild...silly kid could not act him self out of a wet paper bag. Could not dumb sand out of his boot if there were directions on the heel...

But George Lucas had the artistic integrity to all but kill off Jar Jar in episode 2. He listened to the fans...

People bash George Lucas way to much. What happened seems simple to me.
He didn't make any movies for years he lost his touch. He was basically in a vacuum for 20 years, its like Micheal Jackson when he tried to make a comeback. You can't stop working in your field for 2 or more decades and expect to be on the cutting edge.

Bioware by far the ME games have been 95% good, Lucas' films have only ever been 50% good.

The Star Wars prequels and edits to the originals are a blight on this earth and should be purged with fire.

Bioware. At least Mass Effect 3 doesn't have a musical number.

George Lucas didn't technically direct Empire or Jedi but felt the need to make unnecessary changes years after people are more or less happy with the original product, George is much much worse.

Right now I like Lucas more. Why? Because I can still go back and watch my old Star Wars DVDs and pretend like George Lucas never screwed anything up.

However with Bioware, I can't even wake up in the morning or look at ME3 without remembering how terrible that ending was.

Nothing Lucas has done has drastically altered Star Wars. Even all of his ill-advised edits to the original trilogy did not cut away why the story was good. BioWare are the better story tellers, even their weaker games like Dragon Age 2 still have moments of greatness, but they did manage to gut Mass Effect of what made it great.
