Mortal Tier (Guns that can be primary weapons but only on specific builds or against specific enemies):

Serf Tier (Guns that are used as supplemental weapons to specific power builds):

Viper X

Support Tier (Guns that are bad but are taken for one specific reason only):

Scorpion is god tier. Reset a turian soldier and make it.

06666. Concussive shot max dmg, Prox with the def debuff. Scorpion with ammo mod, damage or AP mod. Time your shots slower than the max firing speed and every shot lands, also, don't use right click when aiming from cover all the time, only stay out long enough to actually make the shot. Also, the concussive / scorpion alternating combo causes non-stop stagger on enemies that aren't the boss monsters. And aiming in front of the enemy feet explodes the scorpion shots the second it hits. For boss monsters, alternate between prox & scorpion. Geth I use disruptor ammo, reapers I use ice ammo, and ceberus I go vanilla.

On a general basis, I agree with you. Taking rarity into comparison should be a must.

So yer saying it could be serf tier...  Because it only works on one specific build?

Otherwise, I disagree with his list because this list takes usability into account as well as ALL difficulties.  Any gun that works no matter what you do with it and no matter what class you are is considered better than any specialized gun here.

Totally agree. the Phalanx is the best all around gun in the game considering
rof, damage, accuracy, weight, etc.

I always carry it around with damage and scope with an ultra-light locust as backup
and with both guns to X, still at 200 percent recharge. perfect for engineer, sentinel, or adept (maybe not asari, carnifex there)

On my way. Just got sidetracked by the internet.

It does take usability by classes into account. But the actual ratings are based on Gold difficulty. I very much doubt Sabre plays anything but Gold.

I agree with most. Scimitar, Hornet, and Predator should each be moved up one tier. Geth Rifle should be bottom tier.

The list isn't half bad. I dislike tier lists, but the fact remains that most weapons in this game are easily quantifiable, even with vastly different functions and features. Personally, I would drop the Paladin down a level, and move the Geth Plasma Shotgun and Claymore both up to the tier above. The Disciple definitely needs to be moved up a tier, if not two - its very light weight, decent damage and fire rate, passable capacity and excellent stagger effect make it a very viable weapon.

I'm not trashing it, just looking for an honest answer. It was one of the first rares I pulled and it was a novelty at first, but it's slow RoF and projectile speed ruins it for me.

That's just one example of many character's I've played Scorpion only with. It's a really interesting playstyle and keeps you alive with Human vanguards moreso than with other guns besides Falcon. Any character can use any weapon, its your imagination on what to do and how to apply your powers to best compliment your weapon.

Examples

Overload + Scorpion Spam with Disruptor ammo + Drone w/ multi attack.. That's 4 AoE attacks going off NONSTOP. The damage and range of this is devastating on enemies and clears rooms. Not to mention your teammates also providing their own flavor of spam.

Thermal Rounds + Incinerate Spam

Etc. etc. You just have to be creative and not skeptical of different playstyles.

Oh yeah, not to mention Scorpion staggers enemies once it attaches, and when it explodes. Seriously, its a ****ing staggerfest.

Nice guide - i agree very much with it.

M-99 Sabre should be moved to God Tier, or at leat the top of Demi-God Tier.

It packs a punch just short of Black Widow, and has 8 bullets in a clip (starter version). The capasity of the M-99 means that if everyhting goes well, anywhere from 2-4 assorted Geth units can be dropped before you have to reload.
