I have tried placing mods in both of these areas:
Local Disk (C:)\\Program files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\override
and
Local Disk (C:)\\Users\\myname\\My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\override (for this one the override folder wasnt there, so I had to create one)

I even tried placing my mods in both areas at the same time, but none of the mods I'm using have worked. Can anyone tell me why? I was told that the .erf files simply needed to be placed in the override folder and thats all. But for some reason they dont work.

What mods are you trying to use? There are several different types of mods that use .erf files.

Ok, just did a double check and the only mods that arent working are:
Bidelles Cosmetics 2 by Bidelle
Chargen Revamp by trufflesduval - Tummy_Za
Pineappletree s Vibrant Colors for DA2 by Pineappletree
Pineappletree s Vibrant Eyes for DA2 by Pineappletree
I'm mostly concerned about the first two, because I REALLY want more options for customizing my character.

Ah, now I see the problem! In order for those mods to work, you either need to get a chargenmorph compiler, or edit the chargen.exe file yourself.
 Look here:  dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php 

If this does not work for you, you can PM me and I'll tell you how to edit your file manually. Good luck!
