Finally got myself an able acount.

To everyone who have seen my "The Reaper Wars" series, I'm thrilled and overjoyed to see so many thoughtful minds respond to my works. I think it will be better if I write something to clarify some common questions.

One of the most interesting comment I've read about is the "post-war stone age" issue, and I totally understand why would people be concerned about it.

I'd like to clarify that using traditional methods in making art does not mean the civilization is not advanced in technology. Say, in reality, our Earth civilization is currently in the Digital Age. We got smart phones, touch computer, and many nifty stuffs like MMORPG. Yet there are still a lot of people willing to indulge themselves in mastering traditional art, preserving traditional culture, and even reviving ancient craftsmanship/technology through means of archaeological studies. No matter how advanced the technology goes, there will always be some people willing to preserve and pass the old ways to future generations for the sake of "not loosing their own roots". Take a look at Japan, China, or even Butan, they're either co-existing with traditional culture or preserving it against modern technology. So there's nothing to worry about. :)

I don't think a total loss of civilization or a galactic Dark Age will come after the Reaper War. There may be some difficulties in commuting without the Mass Relay, but people will find ways to overcome it. Making innovations to overcome odds is just one of the many beauties of life.

Second, I'd like to have a short talk on the Asari mural. It is clear that the Asaris tend to make the central figure of their legend/lore further become like one of them. This is confirmed according to Liara's lines in ME3 during Priority: Thessia. Therefore, the "Battle-maiden" could be either gender, it just needs some time long enough for the Asari people to internalize the central figure as one of their kind. As for the spears... it could simpily be a form of hieroglyphic symbolism. They may be flame-throwers, rifles, or even sniper rifles. But somehow the asari mural artists decided to make them as spears.

Third and probably the thing that I want to talk about the most, is regarding the concerns about the "genuineness" of these mural paintings. Here the term "genuineness" refers to how capable it is to accurately protray the events. I'd say that all of the histories we've known were recorded by people and taught by people. And as time passes by, what have actually happened will inevitably be glazed/twisted by the historians' point of view, and to an extent, their own interpretation/imagination. Histories will become legends and epics and fables, and they will not become something that are about pin-pointing the accuracy of what had happened. We knew what had happened during the Reaper War because we've lived through it. But future generations won't have the same privilege as we do (unless the Reapers come back 50000 years later). An in-game example would be Liara being angry at Javik about the asari goddess was just a mortal being, and I certainly don't think the Prothean scientist -- regardless of actual gender, had intentions of becoming dietified by the asaris when he/she guided them.

That's pretty much it for now. I'll keep track with the threads. Thank you all for your support of the artworks! :D

I can accept these endings.

Seriously though, these are just gorgeous. Personally I like the asari green the best, since it shows the husks.

Thanks for the reply and the awesome art - I used the Asari mural for a new background since it was about the right dimensions to scale well without distorting, so it looks awesome on my 40" 1080p monitor.
