Collectors would be a nice addition to the MP. I think biotic classes would have a field day. And it would be nice to relive some of that ME2 nostalgia, excpet maybe for Harbinger (ugh *cringe*).

This was my thinking when I posted. Tech classes are great against Cerberus and the Geth, but biotic classes don't truly excel against any faction at the moment. The main defence the Collectors use is barrier, which makes biotic players much more useful and ensures teams will be more varied than the ourely infiltrator/engineer teams that you always find on anything above Bronze. I personally don't like playing as biotics, but a lot of players do and this makes them much mroe useful.

Plus, as you say it could bring some level of nostalgia to the MP.

Yes.

Pity they're dead, though.

You could always just state that one ship wasn't docked at the base during Shepards assault.

Mercs/Mechs/Indoctrinated could also be viable unit types. More variation would rock.

who cares if it makes sense. i would take any DLC that added on an enemy type. tbh i feel like that is the only thing that could be a game changer for me.

The Truth DLC rumor turns out to be partially true. So what if the part about Firebase Hive turns out to be true too?

I like the idea even if the Collectors are dead. Multiplayer is just for fun really, it doesn't make much sense in the first place.Harbinger probably wouldn't make it; it would just cause a huge difficulty spike in relation to the others.

Not consistent with lore. Collectors are dead  And they don't fight in the war.

2 things about the lore argument:

1. Trying to make every little thing in multiplayer follow the lore exactly is just stupid. People don't play the multiplayer for story, they play it for fun. Collectors would be a very fun faction. And considering the ****ty single player ending in me3 goes against half the lore anyway, that argument is pretty much null :P

2. It could easily work with the lore anyway. We destroyed one collector ship and their "homeworld". its perfectly viable that there are remaining pockets of collectors left somewhere. :)

I would definitely be okay with this.

I'm not too sure about the swarm+shield one since I mainly play Vanguard and not being able to charge outside of the shield would make me sad panda, but I suppose that's the price I pay for playing an easy class...

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favourite idea on the forums!

This would definitely be the easiest new enemy type for them to add, since the models and most if not all the code is already there.

I'm a huge proponent of this idea. Collectors would be a worthy foe.

not to mention the reapers cloned the rachni queen if you killed her in ME1 so whats the big deal with cloning a few more collectors.

It's multiplayer, lore only matters to a very small extent.

I think it's a great idea. I would also like to see merc groups for enemies. Standard mercs along with ME1/2 Mechs.

Yes. I would absolutely love this. The very first day I started to play ME3 Multiplayer I wondered what it would be like to fight the collectors in it. I hope Bioware makes this happen, it would make the multiplayer so much more diverse with four enemy groups and most of the groundwork is already done from ME2.

I'm trying to work out a way of doing this that is different enough from the Cerberus faction to be worthwhile.

The Vorcha and Krogan have regenerating health, which is a unique twist right there, and the merc groups have pyros, but they have nothing that fills the boss role like Banshees or Primes. Heavy Mechs just aren't powerful enough to fill that role.

it could be possible though.

Who cares about the fact if theyre all dead or not, their intro to MP would bring some needed change imo to the grind that were doing right now with the standard 3.

That was just me thinking aloud, so to speak. The MP needs some new objectives as well as some new enemies.

The only issue I could see devs having would be that some troops are very similar to Reaper troops, and they'd probably change their design to have a greater aesthetic difference in factions.

This is mostly in reference to the Scion.

I hope they do chose to add a new faction at some point.
