Steven Seagal as Thane Krios.

Nah Steven Segal as Captain/Admiral Anderson.

He can be the sage-like mentor and chip in with some slow-motion kung fu.

These names on HUK's list are not going to sign on to this.

EA has proven they don't know what is good entertainment several times already (and one in movie form from another game trilogy of a very similar story-based action genre that the ME series was).

Olivia Wilde as Ashley would work for me.

I don't know, she doesen't look at all like Ashley and I don't know at all about how she could pull off that determined soldier character. Wilde seems a bit too pretty. Plus that she's got a way smaller mouth than Ashley. As a matter of fact, ME1 Ashleys appearance gave me a latino-ish vibe.

Wilde could pull it off. Yeah she's pretty, but I can imagine her in a soldier role. Anyone would be better than Michelle fugly face Rodriguez though.

In all seriousness, all characters who are aliens and don't need a real human face should keep their voice actors.

Garrus - Brandon Keener.
Tali - Ash Sroka
Wrex - Steven Bar
Grunt - Steve Blum

I wouldn't be opposed, either, to giving the people who's faces are an issue a shot, but I understand that some people might not actually like to see Mark Meer or Jennifer Hale as Shep on-screen.

EA + Movie + Recent EA Acquisition + Popular Story-based Action game = Failure in 1999.

Yeah, you would think that most of the alien races would have to be CGI. You could do Quarians easily enough by just putting suits on people, and Asari could be done with makeup. Turians, Salarians, Krogan, and Volus would probably have to be CGI, unless you get Dany DeVito to play the Volus.

If Engineer Donnelly is cast, make sure it's played by an actor with a decent Scottish accent - every time I hear his dialogue, it makes me cringe!

The chick who played in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo would be a great Jack. Rooney Mara I think her name is.

I'd be a happy chappy if any of these castings occurred;

Commander Shepard - Justin Bruening

Kaidan - Daniel Feuerriegel

Matriarch Benezia - Lucy Lawless

Ashley - Eliza Dushku or Lizzy Caplan

Joker/Miranda/EDI/Anderson - Their VAs

Liara - Alison Hannigan or Amy Acker

Jack - Mila Jovovich

Samara/Morinth - Viva Bianca (especially Morinth)

I would prefer prosthetics, only augmented by CGI to make them look more realistic.  Either way though, the cast still works because you can't actually see who is in the 'suit' any more than you can see who is behind the computer generated image.
