On gold, you can kill basically every single enemy with a single shot, including phamtoms and pyros. It takes only 3 shots to kill a geth prime. It's also quite easy to get multiple kills with a single shot. The range is somewhat decent.

How can you even believe that it can't effective on gold ? Sure, there might be some bad claymore infiltrators out there, but I honestly don't know how someone can even think such a godly weapon can't be effective on gold.

If you have the skill you can make any combination work. In gold really depends on whether your team plays as a team or not. If a Salarian inflitrator with a claymore showed up in my game I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and welcome him/her with open arms.

if you got the 3 shot number by including proximity mine, I dont think its that consistant, for one you miss a lot with it and you have to forgo fitness in its place which contributes to dps by letting fire out of cover longer and recharge shields quicker. depending on map it may be useless or not.

no, the guy im quoting is obviously crap. and being far away requires more aiming, whereas firing a cluster of pellets doesnt. im a more skilled player because skilled players perform better with the better weapons not worse.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't snipe well. I'll also note that I generally top gold when I use a claymore with a salarian or human infiltrator. It's a fantastic combo both for DPS and supporting the team.

Also, a claymore is in no way useless at long range.  Smart choke, bla-dow.  Fantastic.

just had a match with sabresandiego (randomly placed in gold cerb/condor) and I have to say my impressions of claymore infil have been reaffirmed. hes a good player (sub 15min clear), but still needs to move close to enemy spawn in order to take well directed shots at the enemy. this causes the group to either reform at his location or be a man down. the condor map has a perfect sniping location to the left of the landing pad where a good team of snipers can defend from attacks in all directions. instead a typical shotgun infil will run around the map. dont know whether this location is well known yet, but its the BEST spot to fight geth and I suspect cerberus from. even though a large number of phantoms/atlas can approach you from 2 different directions its still the BEST spot only you need someone to stagger/strip shields. overall, even one of the best players tend to ruin team synergy with this build.

no, I dont complete gold in 15min. thats what sabres speed run teams does. I was randomly put in a match with him.

That's not an issue at all. My proxy mines hit every single time, I'm usually real close to the prime. The tricky part is making sure every single pellet goes in its head. It has to be 3 perfect shots, otherwise you'll need a fourth one.

Why would you need fitness when you can be invisible and heal yourself via energy drain ? Doesn't make any sense.

And by the way, a shotgun infiltrator doesn't really care about the damage of his energy drain, so you can take radius + 40% damage reduction. Pretty awesome IMO.

A few screenshots of me getting top score and at least twice as many points as the second best on the team. Including one with another infiltrator.

I believe I posted earlier in this forum, but instead of looking for it, I'll just post here. I tried this Salarian Infiltrator with a shotgun thing on Condor, Gold, Cerberus last night, while I did have the lowest score (which I dont really care about but just wanted to mention) I did quite enjoy shooting phantoms in the face without them knowing what hit them

I would imagine I can do a better job on a map I am familiar with, but I did enjoy sneaking up on people and blasting them in the face, but it by far is not my best, so i might just stick tomy strengths but I wanted to just say I did try it and I suppose it can be used effectively as long as you plan accordingly and dont try to shoot everything in sight and get overwhelmed and die alot

I only use the Claymore on my SI these days. I actually think I have obtained the top score in every gold match I've played in using this setup. SI w/ the widow is for the conservative, boring players.

im guilty of booting people for builds (weapon and class combinations)  I am not familiar with or think they dont make sense (on gold).

I just think many people dont want to waste their time not finishing a game (espescially on gold) so they would rather go with epeople who have builds they are familiar with and know woudl work as opposed to trying out some new random just to make it to wave 8 and waste 10-15 minutes.

not saying that would happen with you, but I think theat is how most players feel in general.

I personally feel like if my team doesnt gett the objectives on wave 10 on gold the game was a complete waste of time, even though passing wave 6 on gold is equivalent to finishing silver and passing wave 3 is equivalent to finishing bronze, i still feel like I have wasted my time on gold if I dont complete the wave 10 objective. Others may feel the same way so they stick to what they know, if someone has a funky build, they might get booted...

i play silver with anyone since its easy...so any combination is welcome as long as the character is above a level 10

I unlocked the Geth infiltrator yesterday, it is just amazing with the Claymore. With hunter mode, you never get overwhelmed, you're never caught in a bad spot, that is just amazing.

At first I thought not having energy drain would be a bad thing, cos it bailed me out loads of times, but hunter mode is so much better. And you get damage, accuracy and movement bonuses on top of that. It's just not fair.

But I guess I'll hear "A Geth infiltrator without a Javelin ? What a noob !"

I've never like Javelin since I always forget to charge it. It's a good gun, though. And yes, Claymore GI is even much more hilarious and better with the reload cancelling trick, since you generally know where the enemies hide with hunter mode. You would feel as you're a geth hunter in disguise. Mind sharing your build? I'm interested to see how other people spec them

Tactical cloak : 6 (Damage, recharge speed, bonus power)
Proximity mine : 5 (Radius, Damage taken)
Hunter mode : 6 (Weapon accuracy, power damage, damage)
Networked AI : 6 (Weapon damage, headshots. weapon damage)
Advanced Hardware : 3  

Claymore X with AP mod and smart choke.

I should also note that if you have Energy Drain at 4 or higher, you can get up in any enemy's face with the claymore and wreck havoc. Cloak > move in > proxy mine/energy drain > fire > roll back > repeat. You shouldn't go down as long as you keep moving/rolling.
