Do either of these stats benefit a fighter or thief whatsoever? I'm a rolling a fighter/thief for a new game and I know his STR, DEX, and CON need to be high but not completely sure about the other three stats. It's been a while. Thanks.

You want 9 intel to use scrolls or 11 to give you two hits from a Mind Flayer... Wisdom has no real effect on the game for a Fighter/ Thief.

WRT to Charisma, are you starting in BG2 or BG1? In BG2 you will pretty early come across a device that takes care of Charisma issues. In BG1 you might want to have it at 9 or 10 just so that everyone you meet doesn't instantly assume you have horribly bad breath. At various points in the Saga you will have to sacrifice a few Stat points, so keep a little fat in wisdom or charisma so you can draw on them instead of something you really need. Also remember that if anyone of your stats hits zero, you are DEAD.
This topic might be better off in the Spoiler forum.

I assumed your thief will not be a Bard. Bards of course do need to be very charming people. Posted Image

Also in BG1 tutu or BGT with NPC project installed, it's possible to get the BG2 item that Morbidest is referring. Just not as straightfoward. In vanilla it's possible with a CHA of 15 to max it out with useable/wearable items. I know that a high charisma is more benficial in BG1 but don't feel the need to invest too much.

When I say max, I'm referring to 18 as opposed to the engine stat limit of 25.

In practical terms 20 charisma is really the maximum you should be aiming for as this is the highest value that affects shop prices.
