I think the extended cut will only deal with the ending. I was hoping for more LI closure at the end.
It probably will mostly revolve around that, yeah. I'm just hoping that they'd notice that they can add these neat things with relatively little effort, and they'd also help create that sense of closure.
I think one of the problems with the end is that basically the relationship feels sort of nipped at the bud because it's so tail-heavy. If it's spread out more evenly over the whole game, then even the more bittersweet endings will feel more like conclusions than interruptions.

Just a short cutscene of the 2 in bar or mess.

I agree aside from the LI major scenes, and a very few LI banter or dialog lines inbetween missions, there's nothing, and there's a lot of opportunity there, more so for the VS li's that last the span of 3 games, I was very underwhelmed by sticking with the LI for what summed up to be a cou auto trust and about 5 different lines that
but then there's a lot of opportunity everywhere in the game..
@tbms
shepard actually states the exact opposite to a lot of the +rep groups on the citadel, he says don't waste the time you have or bla bla bla, or at least that was my take on it from what I can remember.

Because the op had good suggestions that deserves a read. If not for ME3 / DLC then for added story immersion in any other game.

i agree it could be better and more "soul" attached to such "character realtions" but its not game breaking and with the galaxy at war and possibile extinction i dont think they would be out and about having much fun while tring to preserve life.
Is there ever a better time to try to spend as much time with the person you love than when you know the world(s) might end in a few days? Life goes on, until it no longer does.
Space travel is, even in ME, a lot of downtime. We don't get to see it, but typically the travel time to relays is fairly long (not to mention between systems in nebulae). Think how long it took from the relay to the Omega 4 relay in ME2. It could easily take a day or two to get from Rannoch to the Citadel, even for the Normandy. Realistically, you'd have a lot of time to hang out with your LI.
And, yeah, while I actually think that dinner parties and dancing are probably a fairly realistic reaction to the end of the world, maybe it wouldn't feel quite right…hence my more subtle suggestions.

I thought it was strange that you couldn't ask your LI up to your cabin for a drink/dinner. That would have been cool.
I thought that was odd too.

There was the suggestion of an onboard poker game. That would give some "off-duty" content as well.
Could also be an opportunity to add a bit of Li material (through eg. reuse).
If she where taught well, I so would not want to play poker against Tali.. talk about being able to hide emotion in the game. who needs a poker face when you have a dark tinted mask.
If it was not for the fact that some people have no interest in a romance in game I would even suggest some kind of effectiveness bonus for having them in your squad while on a mission. Or that if you go down they revive you with medigel( maybe allow such once per mission).

Heh, I actually thought about suggesting that if the LI is not along for a mission, they'd come by/call after the mission to make sure that you're in one piece (and maybe get on the radio if you get hit or there's a big explosion or whatever), but because the player-real-time intervals are so short, it'd come across as too needy and therefore unfitting of most of the LIs.
(Though actually for ‘realism’ I'd have loved it if there was some kind of a plausible reason for why you only bring three people. The others would always be explained as doing something else like scouting the area or guarding the landing zone or whatever. But that's completely OT.)

Guess the Quarians need to invent a non glare coating then to play poker.

It's actually a little weird that they've a physical table, anyway, rather than a virtual surface that could support multiple kinds of games… I guess it's taking Microsoft longer than we could ever imagine to come out with their new Surface version

Well if Shep's in one piece it's needy. If his legs need reattachment it's necessary.

Especially the captain cabin one! Maybe just a hug or "good to have you here" will be great!
If they added those elements into the whole game time, I'll play it again and again.
Stoped before earth battle of course.

Fade to black (or fade out-fade in) talks/activity. Again, I don't mean naughty activities (or talk), but simply something that establishes more normalcy in the relationship (if you think that end of the world would prevent people from doing that, you're wrong
). This is pretty easily done: either the LI finds Shepard or the other way around (sitting on a chair could be a trigger condition for Shepard), Shep/LI does a quick “I just want to talk”, then optionally throw in one or two pre-existing dialogue lines about something mundane, then fade to black, then fade back in with Shep/LI saying “I'll see/talk to you later”, “bye”, or whatever. This can be restricted to location like the captain's cabin, the lounge, cafes on the Citadel or whatever. (Incidentally, I think this should be available for squaddies too, but that's beside this proposal.)
I don't see this is as a necessity, as we (the players) aren't seeing every waking minute of Shepard's life. We are only seeing the parts that are important to the story, or character development. So if Shepard has an LI carried over from a previous game aboard the Normandy, I don't believe the romance scene before Cronos station was the first and only time they had sex. It is just the only one that the player sees, because it is more significant to the story, given the stakes involved. (might be their last time together)
