love the suggestions, but I foresee a problem;

as easy as these would be, it's just as easy to dismiss it all with the comment;
Bioware with a troll face;
the Normandy is an Alliance military ship. internal fraternization is generally frowned upon.

infact, in me1 I seem to remember the vs li mention this particularly.

While I can't do anything versus deus ex bioware troll face...

Regarding the normandy being an alliance ship. I think Shepard has earned a little leeway and technically some of the Li's are not alliance crewmembers. More like guests. *cough*

Also its the end of the galaxy, almost all the rules have gone out the window. I know Tali was quite flirty with shep most of the time when the other admirals were not around.

This, but in ME Kaidan actually says that the rules about fraternization aren't as strict anymore but he still wants to make sure they're on the same page (or something to that effect).

Also *titter* deus ex bioware trollface.

In general... and both fiction and non fiction. It's allways best to be on the same page before being in the same bed.

Meh... It would require some reuse of ME2 material then if Shep were to invite them to the cabin.

Theoretically possible but...

I think at that point we're talking a whole different level of requirements; they'll probably have to be left for other DLCs to hopefully flesh out. I think the best that my suggestion offers would be enhanced greetings and farewells, and of course (theoretically) more resources to worry about them in said DLCs.

The only LI specific content I really want in the extended cut has to do with the flashback sequence. Unless you romance the VS, the flashback defaults to Liara. Your LI should appear in the flashback sequence, no matter who it was.

I have to say that I think this is basically a given at this point :) Or perhaps they'll just get rid of it while adding the proper epilogues.

What I would like for Miranda :

- A real romance scene (and pillow talks) when they meet at the apartment
- More conversations
- A reunion scene if they are both alive at the end
- The possibility to invite her on the Normandy

I agree with all of the above, sort of. The last part is bit weird for me, since I don't really know why would she have to be or visit Normandy at any point. All that can be said, they can say in the apartment.

But if they were to come up with something special, I think I could live with that, else it would seem bit forced and typical. "Hey, it's a LI, let's get her onboard Normandy the loveboat"

A very small thing that I think they can do is just to have every LI in the flashback.

Emails: No additional VA work needed! If all else fails, just give us more emails from LIs who are off ship. Anything to differentiate the communication in the relationship from the communication that takes place when not in it, and to help the relationships seem more developed.

Meet ups:
Any non-Squad romance should have the ability to meet up occasionally in an apartment on the Citadel. The conversations can be "click-for-ambient" conversations to avoid save resources, leading to "fade-out" options. Normandy/Captain's Cabin versions should exist for squadmates. Even a silent version like we had with ME2, with no dialogue and just cuddling, would work.

For squadmates: Once you're with someone, their ambient conversation dialogue should change somewhat. Instead of Ashley just saying "Commander" to me once romanced, she should throw in other things that recognize that the relationship is different.

Umm I have to disagree with ya on Samara not being a LI, and The Code don't forbid any sort of romantic involvement, Samara tells ya that time and time again in ME2.

That's fine, but she's still not an LI (although she is a romance).  The point of her romance story is that she's the one who denies Shepard no matter what, and as such, ultimately chooses to deny herself.  Shepard's advances in ME2 are something she almost gives into, but she's so guarded that she can't do it.  It's tragic, and all of its meaning would be lost if it suddenly had a happy outcome with a fulfulled relationship.

Someone should make a petition or something about this so that Bioware won't ignore it :-)

This is actually a really good idea. It might seem a little cheap, but if the alternative is nothing…right? I'm not sure if you all have the iOS app, but there's actually an “email” feature in it, and it's got tons of stuff, like Kaidan e-mailing you that it was nice to see you at the poker table, Tali emailing that she's hung over etc.

Oh man, a Vega romance DLC and “How you doin'?”

But seriously, yeah, the basic greetings could certainly be changed (and, importantly, just repurposed from some other dialogue).

I want more content of the sidelijned romances. Miranda, Jack, Thane and Jacob's romances just sucks if you compare them with any romance on the Normandy.

There's still some illogical bull****. Why couldn't Mirana board the Normandy after sanctuary? Why couldn't Jack and Shepard be together on London before the last assault?

With regard to the mistreated romance characters, I agree…but I think the best way to address them is getting some DLC, similar to LotSB.

I can definitely see a Cerberus-themed DLC featuring Miri. Could even take Jack along, that'd be a tenuous alliance. Maybe Jack would be better served with something to do with the biotic crew… anyway. I think that's probably the best way to go.

While I agree with the OP 100% and think the romances could be greatly improved, not to mention would love some romance DLC love for all the romancable characters, I'd rather get the ending fixed first and foremost before things like this are considered.

+1 for the OP..

I seriously think that those little things can really add a lot. Like one of my favourite moment was when my Shep steps inside the pod during the Geth Mission (priority Rannoch?) and Kaidan's expression while he's looking at her through the glass says it all: He's worried/concerned for her well being/pls let Shepard be ok - kind of thing. Without uttering a single word, he showed that he cared for her. That scene earned a fangirl squee from me X)
Sometimes subtle body language (or appropriate facial expression) can convey thoughts and emotions better than a string of words X)

And about the fraternization thingy.. Well since the VS are now Spectres, they don't necessarily need to answer to the Alliance anymore do they? >=D and honestly, I don't think the Council have any interest in Shep's personal life. So long as s/he does her job well then s/he could have her/his little fun. That's just how I see it anyways..

Hmm.. I'm enjoying the threads you make OP (One of them being about the ending stuff) you post a lot of good ideas X)

Absolutely, and adding those would be beneficial, too. There are a few such cases, and there are also ones where it's curiously missing, like comforting Liara after Thessia. Adding a simple hug there would do wonders to the scene.

I think it might be a little more context-dependent, i.e. they'd have to add them to specific places rather than as a general framework, but it's probably something doable.

I think it's a total nonissue. It's already confirmed in ME that fraternization rules are very loose*, plus it's the end of the world :)  Edit: well, not loose, but not completely prohibitive.. I think. Plus we can always fall back to screw it, it's the end of the world.

Hmm.. I'm enjoying the threads you make OP (One of them being about the ending stuff) you post a lot of good ideas X)

You clearly have excellent taste :wub::wub:

* Anyone have that exact quote? It's in Kaidan's dialogue (at least, not sure about Ash). Just so we can put that issue to rest. I can dig it up but need to reinstall my saves…

Anyone have good ideas on incorporating the non-Normandy people, do they need something special? I mean the fade to black conversations would work well for Thane, for example, since he's in a good spot to just sit down with, but maybe not for everyone else? Fade to black via intercom (extranet connection), or even a holomessage?

I'd like to have seen this too. I support everything the OP listed. The problem is that such game polish is hard when you aren't on a crunch for time. The devs didn't have time to make an ending that wasn't garbage. Stuff like you outlined is low priority and probably not something we'll see in a patch or in a DLC.

Thank you <3

I have to admit I'm a little miffed. Tons of threads complaining about stuff, very few interested in puzzling out solutions or supporting the puzzled-out ones :unsure:
