I am about 25% in the game I think, but I have already encountered twice that the 2 squad suddenly disappeared and during a combat and I have to fight by myself. I am sure it's not part of the plot, as the next time I played again ( got killed ) they were there.

Anyone experienced that?

Yeah, it's a game breaking bug that happens all the time. I've found squadmates stuck in walls, on top of things or just frozen in place.
