Community Manager- They will not make a new ending, because that would be unfair to the people who liked the ending.

Then they don't have to download the DLC.

The way they explained it was basically this: There are three groups, people who liked the ending, those who were just confused and didn't get answers so they got angry, and people who were angry because they didn't like the ending.

From what I've seen, the vast majority statistically speaking are those that didn't like the ending at all. Every poll I've seen has a miniscule group who like it, a tiny group who think it will be ok with more clarification, and a vast majority who recognize all the flaws in the ending and won't be happy until those are fixed.

In the closure DLC, they are aiming to make the people who were confused happy. They know they can't make everyone happy, so they want to please as many people as possible.

Pleasing those that like the ending: Don't download the new one
Pleasing those that want more clarity: Make a new ending that has clarity
Pleasing those that want a new ending: Make a new ending

Yeah, there's no way exactly meet everyone's expectations. But we're not stupid, we know that. If they make an ending that is true to the rest of the story, most of us will be satisfied. If they give us the ability to have a variety of endings - good, bad, and bittersweet - most of us will be satisfied. As it stands, a large portion of their fan base don't think that they can salvage the ending with anything but a new one. There are too many fundamental flaws with it. So they're only getting a small win, and wasting time and money that could be spent making this so much better.

I can kind of understand why they chose this direction. I think the biggest issue with creating a whole new ending is that while all the people who hate the ending are united in hating the ending, I doubt many of them agree on what they want it replaced with: in terms of outcomes, tone, and plot revelations.

Control: You die, no re-unification but the Galaxy is in the best state.
Destroy: You live along with the Geth and EDI and are re-unified (removing the Normandy crash scene?:o) but the Galaxy will take a while to recover.

I think my Shepard is going to make his first major renegade decision this Summer. Provided this is true of course.

I find that most people are hating this ending on technicalities. You either like it or you don't, You also won't like the ending if you have to fill in a lot of questions with what has been provided and implied.

I have one theory that makes the most sense, and is proven by the catalysts own words. The catalyst must be the species that took it upon themselves to end the inevitable synthetic organic war. So they created the first (or first three reapers or whetever) and had them to do their bidding. They either constructed the citadel to hold the AI or personality imprint of one of the members of their society while also giving control (of the reapers) to him. The citadel is basically the control center of the reapers. Why must it be a species? (well ME2 shows you how one is created) The catalyst says "we" created the solution (Reapers) But then says "but WE also control TIM" The "we" he says there is referring to the reapers, but he wouldn't be referring to the reapers when he said we found our solution (being the reapers) His exact words being if you really want to know is "the reaper (although I'm pretty sure Shepherd says how do we stop the reapers to which the catalyst replies) they are OUR solution." "To what?" "Chaos." OUR solution? How can the reapers create themselves to solve a problem before they were created? EXACTLY. Anyways, if this was Biowares true intention, they implied it very subtly and I can see why most of you think of other things or hate the ending, for me though, I like it still.

Why the boy? Well, you know, Legion. He knows what your thinking. Legion being the example BTW. (geth consensus mission).
