I'm curious if the Devs intended the slavery, genocide, ethnocide and why they opted to go that way.

In addition if StarChild lied about destroy then what else did he lie about??

If they did rewrite the whole thing, we wouldn't see it until next year. Just look at how long it'll take them for "merely" clarifying the endings. They would have to postpone any other product that the ME devs would otherwise be working on. As much as some people want this, Bioware is a business and a move like that just isn't viable.

Yeah I don't get this either. Make the PAID DLC, call it "Alternate endings" or something, hell, even declare that they are not canon and the original ending is.

It's not like someone makes people who like the current ending buy the DLC that changes it.

So let me get this straight. The don't want to explain the game because they want the game to do that on it's own, but they are going to explain how Shepard lives and reunites with crew? How about also the explain how EDI lives but the geth supposedly die? Or did he 'bluff' that too? sorry, there are just so many contradictions in this for me to believe this.

I like the ending but im looking foward to the epilogue part of the DLC, dont assume that liking the ending means i dont anything from the Exetended Cut...

I'm in this group. Didn't have a problem with the ending, but I still want to see what Bioware's vision is.

This sounds to me as if they try to put a slant on all the mess we have now, but don't know how to do it. To say it is open to speculation is the easiest way in such a case.

And I don't believe that this end was planned. It was a compromise due to lack of money, time etc. but nothing more. Of course nobody would admit it.

Probably someone thinks that ending will be released on Tuesday, when new content arrives on Xbox Live Marketplace. Extended cut will be relased on summer, MP DLC and Patch is coming for Xbox 360 on Tuesday.

I agree but if this is the way they want Mass Effect to be remembered (or forgotten) there isn't anything we can do about it.

Unfortunately having it ME1 codex doesn't give it free reign to show up and change the theme of unity and diversity to overcome advesity to "Synthetics vs Organics". If you had went from ME1 to 3 you might have been able to get away with that, but the development of the geth in 2 and in 3 really throws a wrench in the ending.

I never said I like the fact that it was used. And in fact, I guess a "god" is probably also mentioned by some human somewhere in the ME trilogy, still doesn't qualify it to be used as a tool for plot resolution.

OP wrote his talks to the devs showed that it's still all withing the lore.

If most of these visions turn out to be true, it might be enough to satisfy me and even make me replay the series again.

I personally don't care about the green and blue endings, screw them, I hate martyrdom and the like...

But if the red destroy-ending will have Shepard survive and meet his LI and crew again...yes, that's what I want to see. And if EDI and maybe even the Geth are alive in teh end all the better!

This would make the Red Ending the one where you can show the middle finger to Star kid...Hey look, I am still alive and everyone else too! But you're dead now, and your creatures as well! Hooray!

And the fact that the relays are destroyed and the Fleets might have to fight together for common survival and return home (by salvaging reaper-tech?) would make it truly bittersweet after all...I could live with that..

It is not the perfect ending I would have liked to see (with a Harbinger boss fight and without the entire Star Kid etc) but better than what we have now...definately better! Lightyears better! I hope it will turn out like this!! *fingerscrossed*
