I'm interested in looking into the toolset for the purposes of making an item/talent/skill that increases the out-of-combat movement speed, as I find this to be the biggest hinderance to my enjoyment of my third+ playthrough. I'm kind of surprised that someone hasn't already written a mod to this effect, so I'm wondering if there's a technical reason why it wouldn't be possible.
Specifically, I'd like to make a talent (or whatever) that imbues the character (or party) with movement speed of approximately Haste + Swift Salve, but provides otherwise no other game changing effects. Preferably the effects disappear in combat.
Is this possible? With infinite Deep Mushrooms and Haste being relatively late game options, the toolset might be my best choice.
Thanks,
DJ
Is there a way to increase out-of-combat movement speed?

Oh you!
It takes over 1 minute to run from Prince Bhelen in the palace to the Dust Town entrance, I did not count load times. That's, umm, immersive I suppose for an RPG on a first play through I suppose. At any rate I'm gonna mod my movement speed by hook or by crook.

It is possible but unfortunately the only talent i can append the out of combat movement to is Rapidshot, for the rogue. The problem is that it can only be applied for a sustained ability or talent and the only ones i can find are the archery talents. Cannot locate where the sustained dual weapon talents are....

I've done it in my mod (see my sig). Basically, you just need to completely override the module script for whichever. Both Origins and Awakening eventually pass to module_core, so that's the file you want to edit. Engineevents override doesn't seem to work.
You don't need to "append" to any ability. Just make your own, or even, don't use any ability at all (rather, keep track of it internally.)

keep a mage like wynne or morrigan in your party and have them learn haste and if you're a warrior and have the warden's keep dlc you can get the blood thirst ability. in the mage's combat tactics set it so they automatically caste haste. the upkeep is hardly anything so it's extremely useful anyway. but yeah with haste and blood thirst active you can run absurdly fast
