Set up your Infiltrator like normal making sure you at least have max weight capacity bonus on and Tac Cloak recharge speed. Also prioritise getting the power recharge shadow broker mods.

Equip a high levelled Mantis sniper and a SMG/Pistol of your choice (keep it light). If your doing it right you'll have a 200-180% power recharge.

Lastly use Flare for your bonus power, personally I just go max damage, shield pierce and recharge speed.

Use Tac Cloak then fire Flare. You will have an insanely fast cool down, essentially letting you spam Flare. Everything will die very quickly.

Power damage passives, mods and armours will only make you even stronger. Have fun :D

I'd go with damage focued energy drain. Call me old fashioned, but there are some shielded & barriered enemies that require their defenses to be taken down first.

Defense Matrix. I kinda felt naked without it.

Same here. Defense Matrix with Durability, Power Synergy and Power Recharge. Since the Infiltrator can't recharge shields while cloaked, it's good to have a shield restoration device that doesn't need a shielded/synthetic target to work. You already have an ammo power to electrocute enemies.
Oh, for weapons, Black Widow + Concentration Mod + Extended Barrel, coupled with any good SMG (Locust, Punisher) + Ultralight Materials. This will give you a +123% Recharge bonus.

I'm kinda digging Inferno Grenade.  I take James along for the ride with Squad Incendiary for priming.  With Inferno Grenade, Incinerate on Tac Cloak cooldown, James' Carnage and Frag Grenade, and Overload from either EDI or Garrus, the whole battlefield is like one big ball of fire.

I'll probably respec to ED for the one Geth mission, but otherwise, going all-in on a fire-based Infiltrator has just been too much fun to pass up.

If you're casting Flare immediately after cloaking, then weight isn't even an issue.  It uses the Tac Cloak minimum cooldown of roughly 3 seconds.  Carry whatever weapons you want.

Only caution is that in this case you probably would NOT want to take Bonus Power on evo 6, but I never take that one anyway.

If you're using a Sniper Rifle based build, Proximity Mine.

For everything else, Energy Drain.

To build on something I said a year ago:

Javelin - 100cm innate penetration
SR Piercing V - 135cm
SR High Velocity Barrel V - 135cm
AP Ammo (Pierce) - 100cm

Total 470cm :)

This was in regards to Garrus and just for fun, but it would be funny on Shepard too.

Maybe a little off topic, but does piercing work properly for your squad members?  I know recoil, weight, and spare ammo are disregarded but if piercing does indeed work, stacking it up as you have seems to make a lot of sense given how often they shoot walls and cover.  I'd also be curious if weapon accuracy or +% accuracy modifiers affect them at all.

Piercing works for squad mates. I imagine it stacks correctly. Garrus is the only that easily gets high distance piercing though (since he has AP and Sniper Rifles). I usually don't invest in AP ammo on him though.

It is fun to see him shoot a shot that streaks across the map with the Javelin though.

Hmm thats some sweet info. I might rethink my build a little. Perhaps I'll use a Venom Shotgun on the build now.

I usually go for Fortification. With its 30% DR (with 6a [Recharge]) & +30% damage bonus/force (5b) I don't need a shield recharge, my power's are beefed up (including ammo pwrs), and I can stay out of cover longer.

AP ammo, for killing brutes in a single black widow clip on insanity and turning the hurricane into a bullet spewing death machine.

From an Infiltrator perspective, I agree: Armor Piercing. Makes weapons efficient across the board and fit most engagements, most targets - even missions specific fire arms feel versatile.

Does anyone actually use Dominate on an Infiltrator? I assume you do?
I have only used Dominate on an Engineer, just because the Engineer has the most distraction potential of all the classes. On an Infiltrator, Dominate would be good, but I think there are better options. But that is just my opinion.

Eh, Energy drain. It just made sense. I only carry two weapons, put one ammo power on each... Incinerate for armour, Energy Drain for shields and barriers... Just seemed logical.

I guess it comes down to whatever fits you best. The case can't be made that a combination works better than another - except in some obvious situations. I found out my playstyle guides my choices more than cold calculated efficiency.
I had good results using Energy Drain, like mentioned above, with my Infiltrator. It just doesn't fit how I approach combat. I found gun reliability more straight forward in any firefight, and though it may take longer, I get sound tactical superiority with ammo powers(AP) - well if you can get past the fact that enemies sporadically duck behind cover.

I have to give mother vote to Marksman. Running an infiltrator with Marksman and the Cerberus Harrier / Bloodpack Punisher combo, and it's loads of fun. If you spec Marksman for duration instead of head shots, the. You can easily use another power such as incinerate during every other cloak cycle and still keep Marksman up indefinitely. The only thing that keeps this bike from being hands down the best in my opinion is that Infiltrators don't get inferno ammo.
