Looks like they imported Jack for your Shepard. Play the mission with Jack, maybe she looks like your Shepard from ME2. Posted Image

^ He, he, that's an idea *g* .

So the patch works only if you did not make any changes to an ME1 import in ME2???

I imported my personalized Shepard from Me1/ME2 and he imported over looking like Casey Hudson. I think BioWare is trolling me.

Does not do the trick for me... :(
I get exactly the same result as before the patch, which is way off.
Well I frankly dont care, because the yaml methord worked fine for me. Took me 2 hours though. But it proves the info is still in the savegame...

Two things for people who are reporting problems, not the severe type problems but the one aspect off ones.

1. In the character importer, if you go to change appearance after importing, your face doesn't reset and you can alter it to the correct settings after importing, works pretty well if you just have one or two things wrong.

2. Which country are you in, the guy who posted the picture wasn't using the American version so maybe it has something to do with region specific coding or something, unintentional bugs tend to get tied into completely unrelated functions or data all the time.

And, as if it wasn't enough, they forcefully remove helmet in certain cutscenes, to make our lives more miserable. Posted Image

Why did I get my hopes up that they would actually fix this?

Isn't there an option in Game Options to keep the helmet on in conversations?  (Or doesn't that always work?)

It'd be kinda funny actually to see the love scene where your Shep is still wearing the helmet... LOL

There's actually a huge sticky thread for this topic already, lots of wisdom in there.

If the face isn't right after the patch (and possibly a manual deletion of the face code using Gibbed), then you have this problem where changes to the meshes and other head assets make it impossible to recreate your character.

It's a more practical alternative to a paper bag with eye holes cut out. :pinched:

Doesn't work for me, either.  *Shrug*

I did notice the "Cycle Presets" have a bunch of new faces in, though.  Might explain the file size, cos it didn't do sh!t I could see.

The patch worked overall for me.

My face imported much better than the YMAL method. Not exactly the same but then again none of the returning characters look exactly the same either. Liara now has a textured face, Ashley looks....way hotter this time, Illusive Man looks creepier, and is it just me or does Dr. Chakwas look younger? Changes like that are all around.

My hair was the only thing really off. They gave me a Caesar haircut when mine was spiky in the front. It did import my old eye color, I could not recreate it otherwise.

I imported the face and then made the adjustments to my hairstyle and facial hair and was pretty much good to go.

I'm still aggravated that a lot of you are not reporting satisfactory results.

Has anyone been able to import their face EXACTLY the same way it looked in ME2 or is every acceptable import just that, acceptable?

The facemorph system in me3 is different than it was in me1 and 2, your shepard is not going to look exactly the same no matter what you do, this is not a bug.

Actually, if you check the big, long huge thread that is stickied about this (and seems to have been studiously ignored, by and large, since then) , a poster and a couple of their college buddies did a comparison, and discovered that it wouldn't take all that much to remap the LOD vertices so they WOULD look the same, or very, very close.  But it is, apparantly, too much to expect EA to do in a month what it took a bunch of bored college students less than a day.

Except those bored college students didn't do anything. Showing a comparison and telling people it should be easy is a far cry from actually doing it.

Did someone step on your puppy when you were little or something? You always seem to be ****y everywhere I see you post.

There is the option, but it doesn't work properly.
Whole Mars scene looks like fuqing parody on CSI:Miami with donning/doffing helmets (I'm missing Caruso's one-liners there).
Rest of the game is out of any form of logic.
"Reunion scene with one particular biotic" (since it's spoiler free forum) - helmet is on.
Farewell with VS (if it is your LI) near end of the game - helmet on. Ok, Recon hood may be soft, what about full face helmet? Of course Casey Stoner's wife seems to kiss her husband into helmet...
One planet we visited in ME2 and revisit in ME3, last scene with another particular biotic (antagonist of first onePosted Image) - helmet always off.
Dream sequence - off again. Even if Shepard wear suit (Cerberus armor in my case). Annoying as hell.

The helmet can work in some scenes. Helmet is on during sword and hammer scene. (Sword part.) FemShep had visors on and with her folding arms over chest...she just looked boss. I was giggling the whole way through and lost it when I heard her scream "ATTACK!", because her voice cracked so badly. Jennifer Hale does a fantastic job but the combination of boss visor and her screaming just made me ROFL.

But back on topic, was reading http://faceeffect.blogspot.com/ and would like to know if anyone could work up a different solution to the poor face transferring. The author did a few tweaks for his ME3 FemSheps and they look much better than the YAML method tweaks.
