Anyone interested in a Non-Blight based DAO in the future?

I would love to see something more complex and darker, although the game is dark, its also fairly easy to settle everything happily ever after. Also, making things even more turbulent, a dark spawn surge with the equivalent of a world war going on at the same time... maybe a new religion spreading or something. I won't go further cause I am too tempted to drop spoilers.

Continuing your DAO 1 character would also be nice too

Definitely don't need to to explore two additional Blights just because they're there, it'd be a formulaic waste of an original IP (something to treasure here alongside Mass Effect). I'd like to mix it up with the rest of the kingdoms.

Even if there is no Blight. You may still encounter disorganised bands of Darkspawn underground and meet the occasional Grey Warden.

I think Dragon Age is broader than "Darkspawn vs Grey Warden". They will come up with some interesting ideas.

I too have hoped for a non-Blight sequel, mostly cause I would like to stay roughly in the same timeframe even if we change countries, and it would feel very deus ex machina for Yet Another Blight to be happening so fast.

My question is, though, if there's no Blight... is there any reason for us to be Grey Wardens? There could be great possibilities for more open stories if we don't get the "Quest of the Grey Warden" plopped in our lap no matter what we do. Not complaining, just saying it would be different and interesting.

I think the plot of any future Dragon Age story revolving around YAB (Yet Another Blight) would probably be something we'd avoid.

Dragon Age...if it was going to center around the future or the past, it may as well be in another age, so Dragon Age wouldn't be the right name, even if it takes place in the same world with the same or similar rules.

For the Dragon Age name to make sense it only needs to be set in that age. There's an infinite number of possible storylines that could occur in it. All we need are an infinite number of monkeys sat at typewriters and we could have all of them.

It's the fifth Blight no? and there are 7 Archdemons, no?

It would be cool if the next blight would come in contemporary time, like now days (hundreds of years after DAO) and we would have guns and stuff.

The last blight could be in a furture space travel time, like Mass effect times or something.

And the Wardens could be a secret society that kept going through all this time even if the blight were long forgotten :)

Just thought it would be cool that one game could do something like that even if the gameplay might be quite different the sequels would be more about the storyline than gameplay or even genres (RPG, then FPS then RTS)

That would be interesting and bring a nice change the fade and all that gets old after a while. but i tould be quite an undertaking for some one to do.

OMG no please don't do that.....there are still 3 or 4 old gods to be acconted for and there were too few actual dragons to fight in DAO as it was. If you don't do the story during a blight then there will likely not even be any real dragons in the game.

I would put good money on the last 2 dragons
and...
...coming at the same time. Hardly 'yet another' blight.

Ah, that's a good thought, doubling up on Archdemons. I'm still holding out hope for an Orlesian invasion of Fereldan with an expanded map and the ability to choose sides. The Blight could hold until the 3rd game! Not to mention they'd probably wanna space 'em out, since once those last two dragons are gone, that's it (excluding Morrigan's devil baby).

It HAS to be in the Dragon Age. Dragon Age is the name is the name of the current time period started around the time of the rebellion. I have the Thedas map as my wallpaper, there's definitely more content. I don't YAB (Yet Another Blight) could be bad as long as it's done well or not the main focus of the story.

Remember, there may be another continent. Thedas is not the planet :) Also, the Qunari used to have another homeland, didn't they? :D

Umm, what spoiler? Morrigan's baby? Are you kidding? Got another spoiler for ya, champ. Duncan dies.

Yes, I understand this is "no spoiler" forum, but everyone draws the line somwhere different. PROTIP: if you don't want spoilers, stay off message boards dedicated to the game. Especially threads about sequels.

I'd love to see much more of the Tevinter Imperium, I've got a thing for faded empires and intrigue.

Anyway spoilers suck, people that delight in them are huge, sucking ****s.

Outlaw, that is a spoiler whether you think it is or not, and instructing people to stay off the internet until they beat the game doesn't justify breaking a very clearly stated rule of this forum. No spoilers allowed is very clearly included in the forum title. IN CAPITAL LETTERS. People don't need to stay off the internet - they have a reasonable expectation that other forum users will not ignorantly disregard a clearly stated rule and then revel in it.

Your advice to stay off the internet is like a television channel telling a mother that it's her fault that her infant children heard the word c**t while watching an episode of Thomas The Tank Engine on a children's network. Totally doesn't fly.

Jesus Christ, you people get your panties up in such a wad. Yes, I posted a spoiler in the non-spoiler forum, it was an honest mistake as I jump between all the forums and for crying out loud this is a thread for SEQUEL IDEAS (<-capital letters), I figured most people reading it have beaten the game, why the hell else would they be reading about a sequel. Forgive me for not sharing their pain. But how you can honestly have a discussion about sequels and not expect people to discuss spoilerish details of the current game?
