3: Mordin Solus, the character I identified most with in the story. And the damn finest singer in the Galaxy.

Tali's inclusion is impressive because I didn't much care for her in the first one, but I thought they did a great job with her in ME2 and ME3.

1. Garrus: One of the best developed characters in video games period.
@amp1236= You are totally right, Garrus is space batman!

2. Tali: Her flaws make her so human.

3. I don't know. I could do a list with the characters in ranked order 100 times and never be satisfied. The characters are what made this series for me. I had strong feelings for all pf the characters. Whether I liked their attitudes and actions or not, I felt something. And I cared about their fates in this made up universe. Maybe, Shepard should be my third...

In no particular order:

1. Miranda - great character development and back-story. I appreciate how her looks are actually part of her story, and not simply to have some sexy female character to attract players with

2. Garrus - "James Bond in space"

3. Liara -.I only liked Liara from Shadowbroker, before that she annoyed me. She really became an incredible character in ME3 though, she was powerful in her own right without Shepard.

Runner-up: EDI

EDI is just incredible, I love her, love having her around in missions, her voice, everything. Okay I found the visible development of her relationship with Joker rather unbelievable and would have liked to witness her becoming "human" more. Her farewell scene absolutely kills me though, with Shepard asking if she's afraid and EDI clearly avoiding the question because she is on some level. I also thought her voice-acting was phenomenal. Even in lines as simple as "Yes!" when you command her on the battlefield her character shows through. She's just awesome. The only reason I put her below Liara is that I found some of EDIs character-development unrealistic, particularly her relationship with Joker - it was too simple from what the player could see. I just don't believe it somehow from what I've seen, though I know there is plenty more going on that we don't see. There should have been a more poignant moment shown to start it all off rather than it just happening in the background.

Worthy contenders:
Jack (great strong female character, always been a favourite), Samara (would be top three if she was given more screen-time, I adore her), Wrex (in ME3 only), Mordin

Honestly though can I just point out Jacob as worst character ever. Really now, what was even the point of him? Even in ME3 his mission was forgettable. Oh now he has a wife and he's off being some hero. Bleh. The only thing that almost legitimates him for me are Samara and Jack's odd comments about him, i.e. "Jacob is a good man. Events will either make him or [destroy him? can't remember]" and "Jacob doesn't know who he is, but that's not my problem."

Yes, you read that right, I'm placing Sovereign as my 3rd favourite character in the entire Mass Effect Universe despite his entire dialogue taking no longer than 2 minutes and 34 seconds to recite.

I wonder if i'm the only one in the thread to have named Him in the top 3. Hell I'd like to know how many antagonists made it into people's top 3...

For me, the crew of the Normandy was


Jeff "Joker" Moreau, the pilot.

Garrus Vakarian, the second in command and best friend, as well as sniper.

Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy.  The love interest and tech specialist.


I can honestly say that I didn't even notice, much less care about ANYONE else.

Which is also why ME's 2 and 3 didn't even feel like the game actually started until the second half:  Tali was not present, and therefore my full crew was not present.

I don't play favourites. Apart from Legion and Mordin. The three who I DIDN"T like are Tali Garrus and Miranda.

favourites...mmm...idk....choosing favourites from squadmates spanning 3 games is kinda hard, i mean, not that there are too many. it's just that, everyone seemed nice in their own way. the variance of the characters is what i loved. and even if one had a douche attitude, like aria, it's hard not to appreciate that character for that uniqueness. I liked talking to Liara though. And Tali as well. what got me caught with Tali is how she always sounded surprised when you talked to her in engineering in ME2. made me feel that shepard, or you in this case, had quite an effect on her. and after that...well...Garrus...cuz his character is simplistic in a sense, but very life-like too, personality-wise i mean.
