1. Liara - First off, I'm a sucker from the first time I meet this character because she's a vulnerable and naive nerd. Her character arc from that naive young researcher into a cold and calculating woman who will do anything to save Shepard right back down into something more moderate, tempered, but warm is fantastic. Has been LI for ALL of my Sheps.

2. Mordin - Who here DOESN'T feel guilty about something? I don't know anybody personally who does not feel guilty for a range of reasons. For me, Mordin is a character driven primarily by a need to atone for the guilt of his sins. And it's a fantastic, visceral, but also philosophical journey with an ending much better than the game it's inside of.

3. Miranda - Her body is made to be perfect, and yet she has chips on her shoulder. She can never have her own children, her father is a terrible person, and her sister is in danger. I just found that character paricularly compelling and so I'm listing her as third.

PS. Don't get me wrong, Garrus and every one of my Sheps have bromances. He creeps in at number 4. Grunt, with his process of self-creation and pure enthusiasm, sneaks in at 5.

Garrus, who I didn't particularly like in ME1. He was just like this cop side kick you could pick up. But from the moment you meet him again in ME2 I loved him. And ME3 just really kicked that up even higher.

Mordin. Come on, it's Mordin.

I can't think of a third. I've written a paragraph for David Anderson, Legion, Liara, Wrex, and Joker. I was just starting a new paragraph proclaiming Thane as my third and I've just decided I have too many characters I love.

Hmm... only three eh? That's tough. I guess i'll go with:
1. Garrus. I liked him and all in the first game but he really grew on me in the second and third games. I still remember feeling extremely happy when I saw him for the first time in ME2. I like how the relationship develops from you being a mentor figure to his best friend/ girlfriend. It felt natural. One of the best parts of the series in my opinion.

2. Wrex: I like how he initially seems like the typical Brawn over Brain sort of figure but as you talk to him you realize that he's much more intelligent then he initially seemed to be. I loved running into him in ME2. The greeting seemed so warm and genuine.In ME3 I was smiling the whole time he was with me because he was genuinely grateful for all I had done for him. Just an all around good character in my opinion.

3: Umm... I'll go with Legion I guess because he made me change my whole opinion on the geth people. Plus he is one of my favorite robot characters in any series. He also is responsible for making me tear up when he died. Damn you Legion, i'm supposed to be stronger then that!

God, That was harder then it should be.

1. Kaidan - much better character wise than in ME1.

2. Wrex (Cause most of the time he's the complete opposite of the Krogan stereotype and the voice of reason like Eve)

3. Mordin - Because he is the very model of a scientist salarian.

Runner-Up: Liara - much better than in the other games I think. She also looked better with dark purple lips as opposed to the very bright pink lips in the last two games, and she always looked strange compared to other asari in ME1 and 2, but I'm wondering if they did it like that to distinguish the fact that she's a pureblood.

Garrus - massive alien crush on him. Kicks arse and has amazing heart.
Wrex - tough, wise and honorable.
Jack - after everything she's done and been through she turns it into something great.

I never romanced Liara either (stuck with Ashley).  I always sort of got the impression that she sort of had a crush on Shepard.  It was very touching for her to convey that type of impression to share that sequence with Shepard.  A sort of "I just want you to know how much you mean to me" type of moment.

I liked it!
