Javik will be down there at one point, and so will Gabby & Ken...

Will he? I never saw him down there.

There is also the Old armory area, though it's blocked off a DLC could easily open/Add that room back.

Aye. though it makes some sense with them generally not liking humanity. I imagine there would be quite a stigma for joining Humanities first spectre. Though in ME3 I think it fits better than the first two with the hegemony mostly gone.

That's just what would have made it so interesting though. That dynamic would have been a stronger version of the Turians vs. Humans vibe in ME1.

With the events of Arrival, I was sure we'd get a Batarian.

And the hegemony was never all Batarians either (I know you didn't suggest as such). We could've had one show us another side of the Batarians, like Legion did for the Geth.

Balak. If you didn't kill him, I'd like to be able to recruit him. Especially if he brings some Batarian brandy and some smokes aboard. Otherwise, Salkie would be a good choice. Same reason. Of course they'd have to add some dialog options for Javik to make comments about them as perhaps a lab experiment that escaped.

As with the ancient thread that got buried (*ff*), I wholly support having a Batarian squadmate. They got hit first. They're not so high-and-mighty without their Hegemony. One of them is gonna step up for Shepard.

(As a LI? I dunno ... I don't see it, but then, I can't see Thane or Garrus with anyone other than Tali for Garrus, either.)

This is very true! Another side of the Batarians perhaps from one of those who fled the Hegemony would also be an interesting concept. Could still have him and Shepard making jokes back and forth too if they wanted.

There's most likely going to be two new crew members. The life support room and the engineering stairwell are notably vacant for no other reason.

I think it would be cool if one of them was a batarian, given what happened with Shepard in Arrival. Not sure about the other though. I'm tempted to say someone from ME2, but their places in the story seem firmly set in stone.

Whoah! Holy alternate spelling of my screenname Batman!

I thought it would be interesting if they added a side mission that involved rallying a large enclave of disenchanted Batarians to fight back. Shepard could either inspire them to fight in an effort to rebuild their race of seek revenge and go out in a blaze of glory.

As a side note part of the mission would involve working with a Batarian for part of the mission, with the option of recuiting him/her at the end. He/she would hate Shepard initially and would reference a number of events from past games (general human/batarian antagonisim, Bring Down the Sky, The Arrival, etc...)

What about recruiting Anto with a "take back omega" dlc? He may seek revenge for Khar'shan.
Balak already gives his assistence in the war, he can't be a teammate.

My Shepard wouldn't accept a Batarian Squadmate!!! Batarians Killed his family on Mindoir!!! Batarians are also known for their constant hostility towards humans as well!

lol in all seriousness...maybe :P I'd like to see a Krogan Squadmate first.

Well it could show the other side of Batarians, Resistance Leader who opposes Batarian Hegemony.
Batarian Hegemony is like Iran or North-Korea.

If they didn't decide Shepard had to die, I thought exploring the remnants of the hegemony would make for an interesting DLC. Civil war ensues as many Batarians are totally unwilling to live under the totalitarian rule of the Hegemony. You pick up a Batarian who either has different dialog or 2 different squad-mates (change the name and outfit colors and no one can tell one Batarian from another anyway, I think there's only one VA for the entire race) depending on which side Shep takes. While the missions would center around the Hegemony, it could explore the rebuilding of the galaxy at large. Without the Citadel, central government is in tatters and the other races might be facing similar situations. But rebuilding/replacing the Hegemony wouldn't be practical during the Reaper war, so the DLC would have to be placed after.

Oh well. Another opportunity lost.

While with Shepard dead that is not possible its still a neat idea. Perhaps Bioware could do some before the ending DLC that allows you to go to one of their colony worlds where they're still holding out against the Reapers and indoctrinated servants of the Reapers. Shep helps em and then one joins squad... or not.
