I think bioware should leave the sexual orientation of main party member characters to the preference of the player. I don't think its fair that the sexual orientation of a main playable party member character should be decided for the player prior to any interactive dialogue. Players tend to develop a fondness for a character. Along with that, is a model or impression the player wants to maintain to have of that character. I think you all know where i am going with this.Personally, i'm a traditional kind of guy. Fenris was such an awesome warrior until it got wierd when he gave me that vibe at the mansion. Aveline is a better tank anyway.

No, we're not going to let you decide the sexual orientation of your party members. The PC? Sure, knock yourself out - after all, it's -your- character, and whatever sexual orientation you want to make them is entirely your choice. Party members, though? Nope. Giving those who are uncomfortable with same-sex romances and relationships the tools to avoid them is not something we're going to do, as doing to suggests that there's something there for people to 'protect' themselves from, and that's not a viewpoint we're in any way going to support.
End of the day, I'm sorry that same-sex romance makes you uncomfortable, but welcome to the world. End of the day, regardless of someone's sexual orientation, we're all people, worth the same respect and dignity, and we're not going to help anyone draw that line in the sand. Full stop.
