1.Ahsley/Kaidan. Kaidan is a VERY generic, dull, and uninteresting character. You don't even get to know him at all during mass effect 1 besides that he's a biotic and has headaches due to the L2 implants (and the biotic training school talk).

Ashley on the other hand is just racist and has so many prejudices I can't stand her. In ME3 I wanted to punch her face after she told me if I was with Cerberus, why she can't trust me now, explain this explain that, I won't believe you.... I swear just STFU. I wish you could let her die on Mars, problem solved.

And the Virmire choice is so hard for me because I have to choose between the xenophobic chick and the poorly written meatbag. Just wonderful.

2. I hate Udina. Been waiting to kil him since the first game. 'Nuff said.

3. Jacob in ME3. If I knew how you were going to be in  ME3 I would have sent you into the vents so that you die with A ROCKET TO THE FACE during the suicide mission and I don't have to hear your crappy excuses about why you can't join me, why you want to settle down...bla bla bla.
Jacob wasn't like this in ME2, I actually like him quite a lot. In ME3 he gets such a 180 I can't believe it. So you're telling me you want to settle down now and are expecting a child? What about the "It's hard being the good guys, isn't it Shepard" ? Bunch of lies.

The best thing is IF you romanced him. He just cheats on you...oh...just wonderful.

I hope you burn in hell Jacob. Even Major Coats Corporal Jenkins would've been more interesting.

EDIT: I don't consider the starchild to be a character, that's why she/he/it isn't included. Otherwise it will be #1.

1) James Vega. To quote the Patrick Weekes interview, when asked how who returned.

There was a very ugly month of development where we fought out who would
return. We knew we had to have a smaller cast so we could fit in more
squad banter. Eventually we decided to bring Garrus and Tali back, so
they could be squadmates in all three games. We also knew we'd have Vega
in order for new players to have someone dumber than they were.

Nuff said. I suppose they need it him for the new people(and those who got everyone killed), but he really felt like a wasted slot

2)Chobot: Possibly the worst voice actor in the entire trilogy.  That said, talk to her right before attacking earth for some hilarously bad dialogue. "We have factories that make binoculars.."   I kinda wish she had done the entire role in Chobot voice.   I wish they could have nixed her role and used it to to let you have Matriarch Aeytheta as the Normandy bartender or something.

3)Zaeed: A really stupid and heavy-handed loyalty mission and  dumb normandy dialogue.  And he couldn't even be a squad leader in the suicice mission. Useless.

3.5)Ashley - Randomly quoting poetry that you could not possibly have read in charachter does not make you a better charachter.  And stop acting like a vanguard.

Too easy to pick starchild, so I'll exclude it

1) Jacob. Bland personality, boring loyalty mission, cereberus lap-dog and after every damn mission in ME2 he'll say "You'll be a worthy addition to the team." Yawn.

2) Kaidan. Never makes it past virmire as a male shepard, all the trust issues of Ashley but without the hotness + personality. Yawn.

3) Diana Allers - Pretty pointless in all honesty, didn't hate her voice or her look (although the outfit was a little too fanboyish) but she was no emily wong. She had no redeemable qualities, minus her boobs, and just wasn't a necessary part of the game.

Would've preferred to have Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani, at least she'd be a functional punching bag when shepard needs to let off steam.

Bailey - yes Bailey, I just found his dialog or voice annoying, always skipped his conversations.
Kai Leng - smug SOB, but he was a great character because you so wanted to rip his heart out.
