Garrus
Garrus
Garrus

You thought I was trolling BEFORE.

Seriously, though, in ME1 Garrus annoyed me because he never stood up to me. No matter what I said to him, he was always like, "yeah, I guess you're right," while equivocating between his original opinion and mine. Annoying. Plus I play Infiltrator and, yes, Garrus, I am a better shot than you. On occasion I would look down my scope and see an enemy drop to the echoing boom of your Mantis rile, before I could get a shot off of my own, but that was only on occasion. Usually I got it first. And yes as I approached ArchAngel's hideout, watching enemies in front of me drop to the same sound, I thought, "gosh that reminds me a lot like Garrus" that does not mean you are the end-all-be-all of this game, like you are to so many girls. You're a kissass and you're creepy. The fact that you spend your free time as a vigilante shooting people in the slums screams problems.

Liara was my LI through all the games and an excellent squad mate, but I didn't like how distant she became. Never really got the sense she was really committed to me. Like I upset her life when I came back to her in LoTSB. Then she acted as if she was waiting for me to die in my short human life, so she could get on with another 900 years of her life. I was a temporary, if passionate, curiosity for her. Can't really blame her. That's how feelings are.

ME3's narrative is not a dating sim. The objective of the game is not to live happily ever after with your LI.

Lastly, hmm, Dr. Chuckles. She needed more involvement with the crew. The way she always seemed so alone and isolated, never seeing her work. Yes I know the game is complex and the developers can't do everything, but she's the chief medical officer. Where are the dramatic life-saving medical procedures that she comes up with to save the day? Sad that I can't imagine her really doing anything medical.

1. The Catalyst - ruined the entire trilogy in five minutes

2. Kai Leng - was kind of a cool anti-Shepard but his boss fights were just awful.

3. Diana Allers - proof that Bioware is not concerned enough about "artistic integrity" that they'd keep out a terrible voice actress to get more money.

i liked kelly :/ then again I got a thing for redheads so
Also this list is assuming the obvious that spacebrat is #1
for me
Ashley/Kaidan didn't like either of them. REALLY didn't like ashley and Kaidan was ok until he just randomly started hitting on me.
Jacob- seemed like a cool dude but his backstory, or lack thereof made him a tough character for me to find interesting.
Kai Leng- Final Fantasy school for bosses wash out.

where does this thread assume space child/catalyst/casper/it is #1?

thread doesn't I was just saying it's a given (imo) that spacebrat is the worst so my list was the 3 worst outside of him.

1. Kai-Leng: "Ok, listen! Dude! You are NOT my Nemesis! My Nemesis is the Reapers...". I love how in the final fight Shepard mocks him for running away, because thats ALL he ever did! He was NEVER a threat to me, he was an emo-wannabe who had as much effectiveness as if you tried to make a supervillain out of Conrad Verner!
2. Jacob: Seriously, while I don't hate him, what do I like about him? He's there, he's apparently doing important things in the armoury, he's... converting oxygen into carbon dioxide? I don't know, the guy just radiates zero personality and I never bothered to speak with him, because he didn't really have anything to say. Even though I never romanced him, seeing how he cheats on FemShep for such a lame reason and the fact he doesn't even seem much bothered, really puts me of liking the guy. Hey Jacob, what about owning YOUR mistakes?!
3: The Councillors: Oh, now the Reapers are here you're going to ask for my help? I thought I was a delusional nutbag! Oh, wait, no... look, you're not going to even help each other! Why would I think the leaders of a Galactic Coalition would actually LEAD the counter-offensive?

Caveats. The worst 3 characters who aren't real characters.

1: The Starchild is not a character. He's a Big Lipped Alligator Moment some moron decided to end the game with.
2: The-Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Commander-Shepard from the final scene. Shepard stops being a character anymore, they are just a sounding board for a Big Lipped Alligator Moment to spew completely ludicrous assertions at and whats worse, actually goes along with them! I don't know who you are, but you are NOT Shepard!
3: Diana Allers: Again, she's not really a character, she's just some random chick on my ship, pissing off various members of my crew and seems to be more concerned with her ratings! Erm, war that might be the end of all life in the Galaxy? Priorities?! And if we had to have a journalist, why not Emily Wong, who I have a great rapport with? Or Khalisah? I love to hate Khalisah! Plus it would have leant itself to some great possibilities.

Javik: Your crew stopped me from throwing her out an Airlock.
Shepard: She has that effect.
Javik: So I saw. *To Renegade Shepard* You have a strong right hook, Commander.

There's... something wrong with your reasoning. It's broken. The fact that he doesn't stand up to you doesn't really... mean anything. It doesn't make him weak as you made him sound. It doesn't make him anything. He likes justice and is having a hard time figuring out how justice-getting should be done. Any suggestions you make can be accepted by him. By ME2 he knows how he wants to carry the justice-seeking out. By being a vigilante. Also, he's funny and probably one of Shepards best friends. I'm a not a girl, and I do not play as a femshep, but Garrus is still in my top 3 favorite characters of ME. He's like a confused Javert (from Les Miserables, the novel/book/whatever) with a tiny bit of Batman.

1. Starchild - Can't really say anything that anyone else hasn't already said to denigrate this brat.

2. Kai Leng - Too cartoonish, stereotypical, sword-wielding asian ninja guy with too much plot armour.

3. Diana Allers - Emily Wong would have been a billion times better. The idea of a reporter on the ship was kind of interesting, but nothing much was really done with the idea anyway.

Kaidan - because when I spoke to Liara after a nightmare and we mentioned the dead ones, he was the only one I could say that I miss (and I didn't miss him, I miss Thane and Mordin). And he was annoying and boring.

I really hated how they forced that on you, I don't give a crap about kaidan, and you were with Thane or Mordin just as long as you were with Kaidan/Ashley, it's not like you guys were bff's from birth or anything.

Agreed. I don't give a damn about Kaidan. We should have a choice of dead friends. Not only Carth 2.0.

I thought Kaidan was bland in ME1, but significantly improved in Me3. I enjoyed his romance subplot with my canon femshep.

Least favorites:
-Kelley Chambers: she felt rather useless
-Kai Leng- haven't read the books yet, but he seemed very similar to Jango Fett in Episode 2 (and I HATE the prequels)
-the dalatross: really? You're not gonna give me support if I cure the genophage? Well krogans kick ass, so I hope you choke on a reaper's farts and die

-Jacob
-Kaiden
-Not so much an actual character but if I could merge all the romantic dialogue from every character into a single new character, he/she would be my third pick.

Kai Leng, we didn't need terrible generic anime ninjas ruining this game. His invincible plot armor was an added insult. Such a waste of a character.

Diana Allers. Just very bad voice acting.

Aria, I can;t stand her attitude and the fact that you can;t stand up to her. My renegade Shepard would put a new ventilation duct in her head in an instant.

Runner Up. Liara. Overall I liked her, but I hated the forced Mary-Sue 'powering up' that happened to her.
She was a young innocent researcher who turned into a ruthless and powerful information broker out of nowhere. Made absolutely no sense.
If they were going to turn someone from the original crew into a character like that, it would have made more sense to use Tali, her Pilgrimage, and all the wandering Quarian hackers.

Jacob - he's just so bland.  I don't know if it's because he was the star of one of the smaller games, but he's.... so....  boring.

Diana Allers - didn't fit and would've rathered Emily Wong.

Kaidan nearly made it on this list, because I always Virmire him in ME1, since you can't talk to the guy as a FemShep without starting a relationship, and she was holding out for Garrus.
On the other hand, I adore Kaidan with Man!Shep, so he escaped the list now. Last year however ...

You want to know what soured me on Kaidan completely (not like I liked him before)?

After you get Ash to kill Wrex on Virmire, she says it's better him than the Commander.

He then says, "Yeah. I suppose."

What. The. Hell?

Well, you have to remember that Shepard was KIA for two years. A lot of things changed, obviously.
