Well only because I've never seen a male desire demon, but in that case, keep the clothes off. :D

I'm not sure I get the symbiosis/parasitism differentiation between spirits and demons. This seems to be related to Anders' friendship/rivalry states, where friendship makes him and Justice/Vengeance more of "one mind" while Rivalry makes them more separate. Does that mean friending/rivaling him pushes the spirit itself more "toward Justice" (a spirit, hence symbiotic) or "toward Vengeance" (a demon, hence parasitic)? Because it seems to me like friending him means pushing Anders more toward Vengeance, while rivaling means pushing him more away from Vengeance. I don't see friending him as encouraging the demon to be any more "noble-minded."

I'm not really for it. Seems a bit silly I think.

I think we have explored all that possessing stuff enough with Justice in Awakening and Anders in DA2. I would rather have some "normal" companion if I had the choice. I can't really relate to a demon.

I'm not sure a desire demon is the way to go, but I'm all for more spirits in the game. I enjoyed both Wynne's and Justice/Anders's storylines a lot. Also, after reading Asunder, well, if you read it and enjoyed it you probably know who I mean when I say that I'd love to see a certain adorable but confused spirit show up again, preferrably as a companion but a cameo would be neat as well. Trying to avoid spoilers here...

THIS.

Let's just be honest and admit that those of us who are interested in desire demons are in it for the sultry voice and boobies. Otherwise any ol' demon would work fine.

.... as for me, I'm not real interested in playing a character stupid enough to listen to any kind of demon, let alone travel with or romance one.

You might want to go through your mental list of demons if you think any of them could work fine.

A sloth demon wouldn't be a good companion. They're not the kind to go on exciting adventures. Rage and hunger demons range from mindless to animalistic. You might convince a very old or powerful rage demon to work with you for a short while, but they're likely to slaughter things at random and attack you if you try to stop them.

Based on what we know, Pride and Desire demons are the only two that could reasonably be companions.

It could be interesting to see a kind of anti-Justice, a demon 'corrupted' by a particularly 'virtuous' mage's thoughts and became possessed with a genuine desire to help people (though their idea of 'help' may reflect a basic lack of understanding of how people work).

Yes.

I was gonna fight with you, but I got high.
I was gonna tank that werewolf too, but I got high.
Now you're one arm less, and I know why (why's that?)
'Cause I got high.
'Cause I got high.
'Cause I got high.

Actually, I'd have nothing against having a Desire Demon as a party member. That could be quite cool. But they'd either need to be a manifest demon or be possessing a host-- they couldn't be melded a la Wynne. That's what a spirit does, and the two are very different things.

Awesome! If David think that Desire Demon could be a decent companion then it's even better.

Kitty was a manifest demon who decided to take the form of a cat, right? A manifest demon doesn't have to rock the horns and purple flame hair. That would make wandering around with them much easier.

Though I don't understand why some demons are fine with chilling in the mortal world for a couple centuries (Allure and the Fade Beast) without feeding, others seem to need a mortal to feed from (desire demon in the mage tower) and others need a host.

I got the impression that Allure was trapped down in that temple until Lady Harriman found her.

Also, the Fade Beast was in hiding. (From who, I have no idea.) It laid dormant until you assembled its body parts, so it likely didn't need to feed.

Allure was trapped or something until the lass found her and the Fade Beast had been defeated and chopped up by angry folks but they didn't have to power to destroy it or something, its in the codex.

Allure being trapped doesn't answer my question. Kitty was trapped to.

How does being trapped mean you don't need to eat to survive?

Kitty was without any source of sustenance for years. Being completely alone for years is precisely why she was so desperate to escape.
