I find that I can't stand looking at my character with the conehead hoods.  The trivial benefits the hoods provide don't outweigh the sheer uuugliness that I am forced to look at throughout the game.  Does anyone else have the same hang up?  I really wish there are :

1.  Better looking hoods (this would be ideal).
2.  An option to turn off helmets like Mass Effect.
3.  Hoods that provide more benefits than what's in the game.

Better yet, have things like headbands (like in NWN2), tiaras, diadems, crowns or just a plain circlet.  I don't want to look like conehead from outer space.

What do you guys think?

There is an option to turn off hoods. That mod has already been released.

That said, I generally just put my mages in helmets.

My party just don't bother with helms for the most part. Morrigan flat refuses to wear one, and has shamed most of the others out of theirs too. Alistair and Sten sometimes rebel a bit and wear theirs though (shhhh!)



Seriously though, stats or not, they're just too ugly. (And not really necessary, I'm on my 3rd playthrough and haven't used them since the start)

I myself got the mod to not show head gear.. it is most certainly better this way. The mage head gear is..ack! Sorry Bioware

A beautiful tiara or diadem would be so much better, and you can make those fit nicely on both genders..! Making our lovely hairstyles show all the time too *sigh* if only... maybe in DA3 they'll take a hint........

My first mage had a hood only till i found out you could get arcane warrior specialization, then i ditched that thing for a helmet.
