I didn't have a problem with Tali's picture myself, I'd always imagined her to have a human like face from the little you can make out behind the mask albeit with very pale skin & eye glow. The picture worked for me so I didn't mind that it was a photoshop. I'd have liked it if they could've based her on Liz Sroker and done a proper character model and reveal, but TBH if I had the inclination to complain online this would be way down on the list....
It just seems so half-hearted, and Mass Effect is a game about characters, and tali's face was probably the biggest character mystery in the game (outside of perhaps, "What's up with the illusive man anyway?")
Seriously. Just spend a week on doing tali's face right at the end of Rannoch. And there are lots of even better excuses to use to give the team the go-ahead to do it. Seriously. Just say, "We had a deadline, and there was
so much to do, we just couldn't fit Tali's face into the game, on schedule, in a way that we thought was truly satisfying. But we know it's important to you guys, and it's been important for us on a certain level, so here it is. Bam."
And now that I think about, I might actually pay for it if that was the excuse. Like 5 bucks or something. Why not? Rannoch is one of the great campaigns of the story, and I'd love to boost the climax by a bit. Make great even greater.
