Actually after fighting in the SCA, I have to say you want all your heavy armor on your sword arm. It makes sense to have the pauldron on that arm. Plus your shield arm is heavy enough. As for your party members, they are only as smart as you make them. Hence, you are given tactic slots to limit how much they do. If you set it up right you can make a party that is autopilot almost.

2.  Why doesnt the mage heal me when my health is less than 50% when set in the tactics tab?  (Yes, a Mage that heals...)

9.  Why do I have to use 1 brain for 3 other party members with fail AI?

If you are having difficulties with AI you really need to look at your tactics screen. I find that I only need to micro my mages and, too a much lesser way, rogues. if you set the tactics list up carefully for each party member you should not need to tell them much beyond who to gang up on first.

Also" > = " means greater than or equal I got my self into trouble a few times by not being careful when telling my mage when to heal.

I've found that a good filter for determining which posts and, frankly, people can be safely ignored is checking if they use the words "retarded" or "gay" as a generic pejorative. Using either is a sign of immaturity and in the case of this poster we get there in the very first point.

That's pretty fast.

@ topic starter:

On the one hand you say Bioware bowed down to EA, claiming they've forgotten their old ways, on the other hand you say that key-features of Baldurs Gate - no sandbox game, not a seamless world to explore, area transition and loading screens, micro-management for ALL party members (and it was even more necessary in Baldurs Gate 1 and 2) and least but actually most important --> single player game - are suddenly a bad thing.

Eh, IMO the heavy armor looks great as is. Techincally the four classes of armor can be broken into this.

Leather, Light armor, Medium armor, Heavy/large armor.

aka, light, medium, heavy, and massive.

Well technically there is no light armor alhough what the game classifies as "Medium" IS actually light armor.

The three armor classifications in DAO are: Medium. Heavy and Plate armors. I guess they wanted to be original and confuse people. I remember the first time I had to choose what kind of dragonscale armor I wanted.....I was like WTH why isn't there any light armor....LOL. Then I selected "Heavy" and it obviously wasn't heavy. They just wanted to screw with us that's all.....but it's all good.

So what are the major bugs? I have not had crashes, or bad saved games, or graphics glitches. My playing experience has been what I call 'smooth'. I think I saw one dialogue option that seemed out of order, but I barely noticed.

I've had some bugs with the epilogue and with Zevran and Shale dialogue options. I also know that there is a bug with Shale, where, if you go to speak with him in camp, it'll say something like "activatve golem/leave golem alone" and then all the environment graphics get corrupted and you have to reload the game.

Not so bad really, if that's the worst :)

Take a look at the OP's profile - he's started this same exact thread like 5 time already!
Dude should get banned - not just his threads locked...

[Edit]:
Now that's just plain stupid. He created a new profile! Probably did get banned. Just hours ago his profile was full of a list of threads he created exactly like this one. Now - "Created: 12-4-2009"
Notice he created the thread hours ago and hasn't been back since. Did that in two others that I specifically saw. Serious Trolling going on here...

GO AWAY, OP!

It's not. A few of the ones I've encountered:

Dialog looping in the fade when you free your party members if you killed the last enemy while using a form - requires a reload.

Texture corruption in the deep roads, most of the terrain turned bright green, only happened once.

Enemies appearing half underground

A few random crashes.

The elven armor boots not being where you're supposed to pick them up (PC only)

THE DEX BUG.

There's more, some involve major spoilers, others weren't remarkable enough to remember.

Now I'm sure most of them will get patched out eventually but what it tells me is that the game wasn't playtested enough before release.

Since you post your own miserable fail, once again, in a new thread, despite the reactions you got the last time, we now all know exactly what kind you are, even if the moderators don't let us spell it out.

All i say if you think game fail is because you fail at it. It quite obvious there like bugs but a lot of games have bugs. The game it self ignoring this is great so if you feel you need to keep trolling you fail and thats a real fact.

Go post where people care

lets see i ll try to answer

1) armor is not retarted, its a convenience. some old italian armor favors more on one side so that the dominant arm dont have much encumbrance or if its the dominant arm is more armored its bcoz its exposed and left hand must be fast at something and lastly big shield + big pauldron = conflict. and has weight issues. well IMO

2) your mage is busy and sometimes he/she will heal if its actually 50% or lower

3 & 4) dunno system requirements? i could be wrong, no problems in mine.

5) just move the slider to where you see fit or just deal with it.

6) i would want hybrid classes like in ME but this will do, its the 1st time they released this kind of rules so start small. you can pick 2 specializations later anyway.

7) dunno

8) talk to an npc and you will find out. anyway, new rules needs polishing and balancing so if they add coop then you might ask for pvp and goes on and on. maybe in DA 2. or a multiplayer module.

9) err you can pause can you not? then issue orders. seriously its real time strategy and the AI here is smarter than shoot nearest.

11) i choose small places with lots of meaning than big places as barren as an empty sand box without the sand.

1.  Why does the armour look retarded?  (Missing pauldron on other shoulder and other exaggerated features)

It's fantasy. It always looks retarded. Still; a fair point.

2.  Why doesnt the mage heal me when my health is less than 50% when set in the tactics tab?  (Yes, a Mage that heals...)

Because you screwed up somehow with your tactics. Perhaps you set an event that will always occur (or occur most of the time) with an action that is always available before your heal.  Example: Enemy -> Nearest Visible -> Attack

Or maybe your heal is at the bottom of the list so it doesn't reach it before the combat ends.

3.  Why should I have to set affinity CPU usage in the task manager every time I start the game?

You mean infinity?

4.  Why does the mouse lag when I want to change camera views?

Get a better computer.

5.  Why is the mouse sensitivity so low when set at the maximum value?

Get a more sensitive mouse...a lot of mice you can change the sensitivity on the mouse itself.

6.  Why are there only 3 classes?

Why do there need to be more?

7.  Why have Bioware bowed down to EA?

There's a difference to  being bought by EA and bowing down.

8.  Why is this game single player only?

Because with multiplayer we'd have no content.

9.  Why do I have to use 1 brain for 3 other party members with fail AI?

Your AI is obviously fail; #2 proves you fail at setting tactics.

10. Why did Bioware suddenly release cowboy software to the public?

What?

11. Why are there so many loading screens/area transitions instead of a giant world to explore?

Because it's not possible to not have that without a powerful processor and a lot of ram.

12. Why can't I bind keys to the last few buttons on the action bar?

I'll give you this.

13. Why did I buy this game?

Because you like to b*tch.

Answers are in bold.

Before ****ing about how an armor setup looks in game, one might want to research a bit more. It is entirely common for a single sword wielding knight to have more armor on the shoulder he presents towards his enemy in his fighting stance. In fact, that was one of the authentic touches that I was bragging about to the wife.

Isn't there a memory leak on the pc or something that makes the load screens unusually long?

Only after playing for a while... like, 4+ hours. Which, really, one ought to take at least a short break at that point anyhow, heh. And gaming on the PC is worth the better graphics and controls (for the poster who commented on the PC being the problem), not to mention the toolset. ;)

Sorry, but I'm going to lock down this thread for trolling. OP, if you have legitimate gripes about the game, rather than "why isn't this game what I want it to be" type questions, you can try again in a more mature, civilized fashion. Thank you.
