I wanted to start this off by saying that I am really excited for doa3 especially after all that happened at the end of doa2. I also read somewhere that you guys where looking for fan feedback as to where to take doa3.
Story wise you guys are doing great the games story feels like it has a sense of purpose direction, and all around epic stuffs going to be happening in doa3.
well on to my suggestions for possible changes/ideas for doa3
First of all the ability trees felt really weak in power or rather sense of charater advancement. especially for certain classes the mage class abilities felt weaker than they did in origins/awakening.
take for example the arcane pool. crushing prison is the more powerful spell in that spell tree but after getting it like youve spent too many points trying to get it and after you get it its upgrade doesnt really feel like it actually advances the spell in any significant way. example 2: the creation pool; both heal and aura are some of the better abilities in that ability tree but also it feels like once you have it the upgrades for them arent really adding much more to your sense of advancement, and the rest of the tree feels weak in comparison or rather usefulness.
I dont know whether its the mechanics of the tree system or maybe the way it was implemented but It doesnt feel like you get a real sense of character advancement.
Which gets us to the second mechanic in the game that felt like it was lacking. Weapons/Item upgrade
the weapons in doa2 although powerful in their own right, felt like they were not distributed properly within the game. I liked having the emporium, but it felt like it horded the more powerful weapons in the game rather than the weapons/items being in game waiting to be found. it was alot more gratifying to hunt for the more powerful weapons/items in origions/awakening thru searching and reading codexes than it was just going to doa2's emporium and buying them. also the fact that you couldnt give your companions the majority of weapons because they were made just for the hawk/class took away from the feeling like the team you built was really your own and that your companions were not advancing at the same level you were.
in origins/awakening it was fun looking for the badass weapons/items thru reading codexes or carrying out side missions. It gave you a sense of accomplishment that was lacking in doa2.
Now I liked the dlc's in origins because it felt like it added to the lore of dragon age and that it progressesd the story of doa it propelled it, and even if you didnt get any of them the game still feels concluded without it, their expansive without being necessary. for example witch hunt, it expands on whats already established without feeling like its necessary. in doa 2 they dont really feel like they add much to the lore of doa. the only dlc in doa2 that felt like expanded on the lore of doa, was the Legacy DLC. the other ones while fun felt more like they were dlc for the sake of being dlc. such as the Item Packs, The Exiled Prince, and Mark of The Assassin.
In origins you feel like dl the dlc's because you want to continue the lore and experience of origins, because origins felt complete on its own and you wish to continue on that quest. take for example Return To Astagard, after what happned in game you want to go back to that battlefield to see the aftermath of the battle that was lost.
I actually wished there were more dlc's for origins. in Doa2 the dlc's dont feel like they dont add much to the lore of the game, and the ones that are out feel more like they could have been in the game to begin with. DLC's aren't bad so long as they add to the lore and expand on it, not when they just feel like they are just DLC to be DLC.
on the music note I love what you guys are doing with that, especially adding and actual song. I feel like your song choices have been spot on and really flesh out the feel of each game.
You guys are still doing amazing with this game/franchise and love the direction of the story of this game. and hope some of my opinions are taken in to consideration because I care about this world alot.
doa2/3 suggestion of changes

Maybe co-op,I know it is quite unpopular about you ´I want only singleplayer and nothing else´,but just take your time and read my article, which I created in one short evening. I don´t want destroy your personal feeling from be the one,who will save the world. I want have feeling and experince that story with my closest friend/family member without you will be damaged in any way. We will be play our own game, which effect only us.
Okay, let get sound the something about possibly co-op in Dragon Age franchize
1.More work to make co-op into game-I don´t agree with that.I think It would be just some sort of simple net code and one option in menu and maybe possible one slighty different system of dialogue for companions which are controled second player, nothing more.Story and everything else would be same for co-op as for singleplayer, if you count with participing of other player(or other two players).Look at Sacred 2-it is game, which have game time around 500 hour. It is really huge and you can play it both way-singleplayer or co-op, and what do you think that need more work-create world and quest+story or make some net/online component?Answer is clear, for me. Look at Dungeon Siege 3-in basic it is singleplayer RPG. You have your hero, you have AI companion, there is plenty of cutscenes and you always meet your partners in depend on which character you have and who is your partner. If you don´t switch one option in menu, you will still feeling you play (and you play) singleplayer RPG.And this is important-IT IS STILL SINGLEPLAYER TYPE OF GAME,UNLESS YOU WON´T CHANGE THAT IN MENU
2.How it should work (some concept of co-op in game)-I am really huge fan how did it Dungeon Siege 3-you are the host, you are the boss. How many people do really want co-op with strangers on internet? No, I want co-op with somebody who I really know well (friend, member of family),on some type of private server and go throught all story with him/her. There is some option how can be this co-op really personaly – you can be both in same room, have PC/notebooks near each other,or play on one console and be very good team- almost better then you will be with AI. When you play with friend, you know him and you trust him as he trust you, so there wouldn´t be any problem. Before you will run your game, you can divide your role-who will pick that character. Not everybody want be main guy, he isn´t only who fight against evil. After you completed the game, you can switch the role-for example (main guy/companion in party). Make that like in Dungeon Siege 3/Sacred 2-everybody can trade, but only on host will be when he want begin dialog, leave area. There isn´t also any danger that any player would kill important person-becuse I think in Dragon Age series you can´t simply attack on person, which is not enemy (and I think in designed area you can´t draw your weapon). That do not ruin your singleplayer experince – and you forward into you story as you want. It is not fair for second player, but co-op isn´t really about competition, if that player won´t help and don´t respected rule, just kick him out. There can´t be two leader-in game you are leader, so it should be respected everyone other who join. It is role-playing game, or not? If somebody don´t respected that, he can host his own game. But if it leader good player, he will listen others players and try it keep in balance, what they want and how keep progress. Relationship system would be also interesting if there was option when first player one set of dialogue options, he/she choose one, then it switch to other player and he again choose from his dialogue options(still it will work like in singleplayer dialogue-restricted range of dialogue option, after you get into end, dialogue over with some result). It can be harder to include, but do you can imagine how this can improve interaction with companion. Also only two player should be able to make dialogue between each other, but in case of NPC everybody can participated,if leader run dialog with that NPC – and answer should choose how each players choose their answer (just use vote system, if two or more dialogue option get same number of vote, we use system of dice). As for save system-again like in Dungeon Siege 3- but players can bring some of their companion (which they choose as they join to game) and this companion replace one of host companion (but quest player should be able to choose only fro companions, which have host already in game),and there should be some option for level limit (same level as player have,+1 level,no limit level). Also when will be host in menu, where he/she choose companions, every player quest players should be able to suggest some companion, which he/she want use and then host should have option to refuse or accept that choice. Every change, which will be occured during progress story (that mean new levels+new equipment+entries in codex+archivements) will be saved to quest computer in this character, on host PC/console should save whole game excepct status of compaion(s),which are controlled human. As player leaves, control of companion return to AI, but it will stay on level, which would be reach during if it there wasn´t human player. Equipment after human player left would be include from what have AI companion before+all what he earned during he/she play (and what he/she do not sold). Pause-it would be host game, so he/she would have exclusive right to pause/unpause game. Loot-Every quest player should get same loot as ain player or some similar system
Last thing-I wouldn´t be suggest co-op for this type of RPG like Dragon Age if there was enough type of epic RPG like this-but in these years it is like desert which was created after nuclear impact. Everything what release today is-a)diablo-like clones (in recent time-Sacred 2,Dungeon Siege 3,future-Diablo 3,Torchlight 2) ,b)MMORPG(many, many, include also Star Wars-The Old Republic direct from EA),c)very simple fighting game, in which are RPG feautures only that you haven´t feeling that game is very simple action -no thanks,I am slowly tired from these types of game. No games like Neverwinter Nights 2 (release 2006,from that time almost zero hardcore RPG with co-op like NWN 2), which was quite hardcore RPG, in basic singleplayer RPG, and ready for co-op. And do you know what is irony? That favourite singleplayer series KOTOR, which you many think it can be only singleplayer RPG and nothing else, is now MMMORPG.

Might want to add a bit of white-space. That's difficult to read as it currently is.

And if there happen miracle, there will be still plenty of very good only singleplayer RPG who hate option of co-op:for example Risen (with upcoming Risen 2), series Gothic, Arcania, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout-New Vegas, Kingdoms of Alamur ( also EA game), Witcher, Witcher 2 - 12 only singleplayer RPG. And if I count some older RPG, which have also only singleplayer, number would be much bigger. Problem isn´t there number of singleplayer RPG which are like Dragon Age series, problem is number of RPG like Dragon Age, which you can experience with second folk in last three-two years.
Somebody say Two Worlds 2 or Mass Effect 3? Okay, can I go throught all singleplayer story, not some extra portion of game? No, I don´t.

For co-op-I just want add two idea
Inventory-host/every player should have their inventory
Situation when quest player use companion, which he haven´t already obtained in his game-it will be just used host companion, Then it will save as would you use your own.
All companions you use firstly for co-op game should be from your singleplayer game, after that game should create co-op version of companion(which was used in current session) and which will be used for future co-op game

I am sorry if my comment look rude in your eyes. Everything that I want show that singleplayer and co-op can be in one game and that game can awesome in both mode, because that game is already awesome in singleplayer and co-op would be based on that singleplayer, not on nothing else
I also try show that co-op would be very possible in future Dragon Age titles and try to figure how to do it, I think that is more then only demand co-op function.
And I don´t critized Dragon Age or Dragon Age 2. If somebody have that feeling, then I am sorry. I love this series and I have completed Dragon Age roughly six time. Also I have played or completed other bioware game like Mass Effect,Mass Effect 2, Jade Empire and some others. Bioware make great game, that i admit.

And as for gameplay aspect of Dragon Age 3, I suppose one small change in system of party-raise number of member party on five (because I think it have good two warriors ahead, two healing/two wizard class like support and one member of party from other class (like rogue), that is five party member).

And also make possible to equip your companion as it was in Dragon Age 1,not like it was in 2.

And what would be also awesome if in Dragon Age 3 meet two heroes fro previous game-Grey Warden,Hawker+some new guy. I don´t mnd if it was some shorter part of future game, but I think it would awesome.
