It was a bonus for the Collector's Edition, if I remember correctly.

Digital Deluxe Edition. Twenty bucks or so if you really want Collector armour and assault rifle. Personally I seem to get shot by my own squadmates enough already without looking like a bloody Collector as well. ;-)

i know its DDE, but is it the software for it on a code/download, part of the DDE install, or is it in every copy and just locked?

Ah, sorry, you mentioned the CE up top as well and that threw me a bit. I suppose you'd need to compare file sizes of the DDE and standard edition to be sure but I'd expect it to be part of the install. Since you're downloading the DDE anyway I can't imagine they'd expect you to install that and then give you a code to download something else, especially when the weapon and armour DLC packs are only 20 megs or so. If they included it with the DDE install it'd be only a tiny bit longer to download compared to the standard game and save users the hassle of having to download something else afterwards. Corporations can do some pretty dumb things sometimes and since I don't have it I wouldn't say anything for certain. I wouldn't hold out much hope of being able to access it in a standard game via a save editor or anything. If it was that straightforward I'd imagine half the internet would have instructions on it.
