We need a pvp mode

Having played both the campaign and multiplayer - I'm pretty sure ME3 would make up for a pretty good pvp experience despite the general consensus on the matter. Since pvp isn't available - it's assumptions from both sides. Even if you make it out that I'm wrong and that's all there is to it.

If you wouldnt like it, dont play it.
PvP stomps PvE into the ground all day, every day.
PvE is made to let you win, there is no challenge.
ill be honest if PvP played more like PvE i might enjoy it (assuming there were no mics) but PvP lately is turning out to be who can find the thing most unbalanced and exploit the heck out of it, and that just isnt fun for anybody.

Yeah go play gears of war if you want a ****ty community. Don't ruin our game
I find it funny you tell me to go to a bad community and that adding pvp would "ruin your game"
Ironic isnt it? People want something YOU dont like, and you tell them to leave because it would bring a "bad community"
Dont like it? Dont participate, but dont bash it and say it doesnt belong because you're afraid youd get killed.

Dont you do the same in PVE? Find the most OP combo and clean house/top charts?

How do you reconcile PvP with the incredible power of some of the game's mechanics, like Stasis, or the ease of staggering player-characters with shotguns, Concussive Shots, Carnage, etc.? You can suggest PvP all you like, but not addressing the nightmare of balancing it severely cripples your argument.

It's more tolerable when there's only one op **** per few games, vs having a pvp system where "every" game has a cheap gamer.

well no, not me personally. i mean i get your point people do, and you are right about that. the difference is in PvP you are obligated to if you want to compete effectively compared to PvE since i can play the way that was meant or a way i want to and not suffer greatly because of it.

If you can't understand the how CoOp works, go play CoD. Some games require communication and tactics rather than just finding whatever hasn't been nerfed yet.

In pvp, only bad players need a crutch / OP thing to win. You cant generalize, there are plenty of people that play a "normal" skill set / class.

What does understanding of co-op have to do with anything? This is a thread about pvp.
Also, pvp requires communication & tactics, ever hear of premades?

It's like if i was the head of my local neighborhood watch and you were a suspected murderer wanting to move in and trying to get other people in the neighborhood to help you participate in murder. Sure i could decided not to kill anyone but then i'd still have a a neighborhood full of murders who want to kill me. I'd rather you just stay out of my happy little community and nip the problem in the bud.

You seem to think pvpers are all about ZOMG EPEEN 1337 UBAR SKILLZ, you must only have seen xbox live CoD players yes? The PC communities are MUCH better, and CoD has the adrenaline junkies, not all pvpers.

Three points go against PvP. First and simplest, Mass Effect is at its heart an RPG, and the current multiplayer meshes pretty well with that. A PvP mode doesn't fit - With the Reapers invading, why would the races' best and brightest be out there trying to kill each other? It breaks the atmosphere of the game to have such a thing around and atmosphere is important in games like these.
Second, mechanics. The classes would need to be redone and rebalanced in order to make the mode fair, let alone fun. You would need to implement some kind of respawning system or some way to make the match not end the minute four people die, or matches would last all of two minutes. A lot of classes would be outright ineffective due to one-shot kills or mass CC like Stasis (which would work on everyone since nobody has Armor). As a side effect, you'd also get a lot more hacking and cheating going on, as you do in any PvP-oriented FPS game. It comes with the genre.
Third, you can say 'Don't like it, don't play it' all you want. The fact remains that developing a PvP mode takes development resources that could be spent on doing things that the majority of the playerbase actually wants - Would you rather have PvP mode or better endings? PvP or the free Resurgence DLC? You can't have everything, as BioWare only has so many people to work on the project. Adding a widely unpopular, unwanted option at the expense of things the community wants a lot more is a great way to lose a lot of potential customers.

CC have been strong since players vs players exist. The solutions developped from other games could still apply. This mean : Diminishing returns, an item or spell to remove debuffs from your character, limitations to what "x" ability makes to human players but keeps pve untouched (really important the last thing you want to do is create a double balance issue), no one can one shot anyone unless it's a headshot. Vanguard charge's range is limited. I could go on for a while on how (I think I would) balance this game. But this would make for an endless discussion of "what if" and " you forgot "x vs y" matchup" The main point is. It's mostly a fps with a few rpg elements throwed in not the other way around.

i very well can generalize. im sure there are plenty of good players that dont use 'crutches' but i know through experience that there is even more that do. im not judging PvP without ever playing it. i have played enough of it to know i dont really like it because of said reasons.
is it possible that i only found bad games, and bad players? thats possible, but my statement was realitive. "I" would play PvP if it was more like PvE because i find that PvP is more about finding the most unbalaced item and exploiting the hell out of it, and that is not fun.
