Which enemy gave you the hardest time?

the last fight in London against nearly every enemy-type while waiting the the Reaper to get close was annoying and hard (only enemy missing was the Ravager(Rachni))
I had my beef with the Cerberus Nemesis... I tend to see them too late and my shield is down before I know what hit me
Kai Leng is quite easy if you got "Energy Drain" as your companion-ability... drain his Shield while boosting your own
Phantoms die fast with Liara's Stasis... Statis + Warp nearly kills them (and they're stunned for a while... waiting for the finishing shot)
Ravager die fast with a maxed out Warp and some shots from your Pistol (or sniper-rifle... if you got one)
the Marauder's weakness is "Energy Drain"... if it's maxed out it'll take the shield down with one shot and they're open for other abilities

Seriously though the Reaper on Rannoch was kind of a pain. So were the banshees.

Hands down. No comparison in all of ME3, even on insanity.
Pft, as an infiltrator, with cloak specced for damage, this thing was no challenge for the collector particle beam barrier and Widow armor raper.
Or a soldier with merely adrenaline rush, mantis, and a cain. But even just a mantis will do, and a mattock to take down it's barrier's quickly.

On insanity all you can do is run around like an psycho until Anderson say "Now, Shepard!" Don't try to kill them, it'll just spawn another.

First playthrough was on Insanity, Sentinel, I managed to finish the campaign of course, but Brutes are WAAAAY overpowered at the beginning of the game. Later they get super easy to kill, but they give a hell of a hard time at first, specially on that Palaven Moon.
Really? My first playthrough was on insanity, and at the one part where you have to fight 3 brutes, I managed to kill all of them the hard way, and only discovered the Reaper heavy weapon (forget its name) after they were all dead. Though the fact I had the N7 Valiant (one of the best snipers in the game) may have had something to do with it.
I have honestly never been killed by a brute or a banshee, though banshees have killed me indirectly a few times by forcing me out of cover, where I then got killed by cannibals/marauders/ravagers.
The most frustrating enemy for me would have to be phantoms. I have never been killed by their melee attack, but their ranged attack has killed me a bunch of times. I can kill them easily enough when they get close, but it's annoying when they stay at range. I'll be dealing with other enemies, when all of a sudden I have no shields, and then I'm dead. I'll only realize after the fact that it was because of cloaked phantom.

It's a pain in the ass on Insanity, I dug up inside that little store with the Heavy Weapon, when that console for shooting missiles got ready I just ran for it.

The Catalyst. No Speculation Needed. It Was So Challenging It Forced The Endings To Occur.
This game was so easy though. First playthrough mild amount of diffculty. Second playthrough lol everything dying in 1 to 2 shots.
So Catalyst for sure.

I did that so many times my first run through. I swear, I only ever found heavy weapons after the fight I was supposed to used them for.

Rannoch? Only saw the one Geth Spitfire before I took down all three Primes (turns out there's a whole bunch of them throughout the room). Thessia? Killed the Bannshee, Ravager, et al before seeing the Hydra sitting right there. I barely used any heavy weapons my first playthrough.
Didn't find the blackstar till my 2nd playthrough AFTER I had killed everything. And what the hell is this hydra you speak of >.>?

FRAKK, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT UNTIL NOW.

I think it shows up twice, once during Thessia and I forget where else. It looks exactly the same as the Cobra launcher in MP (the Cobra also shows up in SP at some point, but I forget where). Instead of one really powerful missile, it fires a burst of missiles that can target multiple enemies. On Thessia I think it shows up in the part where the gunships come in to help you. You have to kill a banshee and at least one ravager, along with some smaller enemies.

I guess it must be my fondness of the Black Widow, Wraith, Saber and other hard-hitting weapons that tear through armor (I also almost always equip the piercing mod on anything I can). I've never really had a problem with banshees, and I've never played on anything but insanity. The worst that happens is they flush me out of cover to get killed by something else.
Oddly enough, I die more to marauders and cannibals (stupid grenades) than to the brutes and banshees.
If you're having trouble with banshees, get revenge by playing a soldier, speccing for squad explosive incendiary ammo, and bring Garrus and Ashley with Particle Rifles. Watch banshees die without you ever firing a shot.
