I didn't care enough to have reservations about "Snooki Allers: Ace Reporter" being on the SSV Normandy. I just took her for the War Assets. The character was just another resource for me to use.

Now Chobot herself, on the other hand, is a nice looking woman in real life.

I'd hope that the "get off my ship" choice would be to toss her out of the airlock. You still get the war assets since you film it and the entertainment value would be a raise in morale

As far as I've ever seen, the core of the backlash against the character is purely because it's modelled on and voice by Jessica Chobot.

Truthfully, at least in my opinion, the voice work wasn't that bad. It wasn't stellar work but it definitely wasn't downright horrible. I thought her lines about losing her home of Bekenstein at the end hit the note they were meant to. Her com chatter with Traynor sounded convincing and I liked some of their back and forth.

I also like the idea of a war reporter on the Normandy. When you're jumping from planet to planet and only have the Citadel as a hub and only a handful of major planets to visit, the idea of having a character that's covering the things you aren't seeing happening is a good idea. Was it executed well? Not quite. Some of her reports were interesting (sorry, nobody will miss Adelaide, Australia) but it really could have been a bit more comprehensive.

Was Chobot weird stunt casting? Sure. People were unjustly up in arms about Freddie Prinze Jr. also and see how that worked out.
The biggest fault with Allers is that apart from some War Asset boosting and a lttle bit of flavour dialogue, there doesn't seem to be much else to her. I appreciate the idea but it wasn't pulled off as well as it could have.

Overall though, the character is completely inoffensive.

Well for me the character is truly awful. This is compounded by the fact that the war correspondent concept is actually a pretty cool concept. However instead of getting a real war correspondent we get a bubblegum reporter. Didn't know who Chobot was before so purely judged her on her poor acting skills. Final insult was that they killed off a really good character(Wong) by twitter to insert this piece of fluff into the game.

There seems to be too much hate in the forums and it overflows to other subjects than the ending. Now that the chaotic forum groupmind has decided that she is to be hated, she will be hated and every wannabehater can pick up their own reason. Thats just how the internet social media works these days.

My personal opinion was that the character wasnt the best one in the series but not really bad either.
