I looted 3 rings from a chest, "finely crafted" or some such, they disappeard from my inventory and gave me 2 injuries -wtf?
I take it this is some kind of cursed item?

I despise people that mock others without giving out SOME kind of advice.
However, the OP might want to pay more attention when the "Quest updated" or "New Quest" popups occur in the game. Frequently the codex entries explain thing smuch better than the in game events do. That isn't really a good thing, imo, it would be nice if the dialogue or events actually did the job, but it is what it is.

Oh I do read the Quest Updated and New Quest pop up, but I ignore the codex. Most of them are long to read and don't really give and real information - so I just ignore them. I don't have that kind of time, The time I do get I would rather be playing. In fact I refer to the quest journal quite often.
If these rings did pop up a quest update, I must of missed it when I saw the damage and injuries occure.
