would've like to see development of faith in god for Shepard if he/she believes in him (Remember the question when talking to Ash in ME1?). Would be interesting to see those two connect, especially if you romanced her.

Emotions? He's answering ash's question and I think every Shepard is a little disturbed by the question of "Am i still the same commander Shepard since my ressurection?" If of course Cerberus told the truth and shepard isn't really some sort of Artificial intelligence.

And, putting this scene in and holding ground against any outcry for removal would be artistic integrity of the good kind.
I just do not see anyone asking to have it removed. It would if anything give people a chance to ask something they were thinking. Not sure if it makes sense but even though shapard is our chacter it would be one time we could get to ask a question of him. I think alot of people ttalked about how shapard never seemed to act like dying effected him.
I also think it adds to ashely's chacter and would pefer this over star child anyday. I think it was more of lack of space on disk or time. I thought the whole point was to show diversity and in a way I think they did a good job on that till the end of the game.
That be my 2 cents and I think it cost what 3 bucks to make those 2 pennies can I have the changeB)

Not only that, but this was a question that was never asked of him in ME2 which boggled my mind. Oh hey you were brought back from the dead? That's pretty cool, anyways want to go grab a beer? It's definitely something that Ash, Garrus, Tali, Liara or heck even Wrex would have talked to him about.

Wow ok.
You know what, I had imagined that exact kind of question coming from Liara in my own head canon. In some of my own scripts, I have Liara asking Shepard questions about human religions coming from an earlier discussion about Ashley (my canon Shepard saved Kaidan on Virmire and Ashley died of course). Liara knew that Ashley was a religious person, and she (Liara) is curious, she wants to know what Shepard specifically thought of religion in general.
After some time during the discussion Liara does come up with the question: « Tell me, Shepard, do you remember anything from before you woke up at the Cerberus labs? », my Shepard replies « I remember being spaced out, air leaking out of my helmet, lots of pain and couldn't breath, I was panicking... », then Liara asks « My mother always spoke about a supposed light, I think humans also refer to something similar when they speak of near-death experiences », to which Shepard replies « I can't remember anything about a light but... it's vague, I'm not sure, I think I heard voices, it might have been the personnel at the Cerberus labs »
Anyway, I find it amazing that out of coincidence I made a discussion around the same subject (after-life, what Shepard saw or can remember, etc). I guess that fan-fiction isn't necessarily always that far from what the writer(s) at BioWare can sometimes think about. In any case, they should have kept that scene.
Ash, Liara, James, heck EDI could have asked that it would still have been awesome.
Works best for Ash because she has almost no Normandy dialogue atm anyway.
It would have been appropriate for any of the squadmates. It works best for Ash, or possibly Thane, because they are religous/spiritual people.

This conversation, the anderson conversation at the end telling shep to have kids... so touching moments ruined cutting them off...

In game Shepard is meant to be you (the player), so if
you died and then somehow you come back to life you wouldn't question
what happens after death? Or would you be just fine knowing that you
died and came back to life?
My Shepard would be just fine, yes. I would like a scene or two that goes into the fact that you died and how you feel about it, but it'd have to be scenes where you could choose and not be railroaded into it.

Yeah, emotions. I'm not pejoratively saying he's being emotional or anything. But he is expressing his feelings on it and what I read didn't mesh with my Shepard's.

yeah I can see why they cut it...first it does cut to the core of religon and it's not really for Bioware to say what somebody who died really saw or not. I would of liked the scene but I can see why they went away from it.
edit: I also don't think they wanted to have Ash questioning her beliefs
It doesn't cut to the core of anything. THIS is the kind of ambiguity I have absolutely no problem with.

I would think that if in game Bioware should have then a Dialog wheel:
Darkness/Nothingness/ or I don't remember
I was seeing my past
It was like a dream of happness
It was like nightmare I never could leave
I was trapped reliving my life over and over.

They should've flagged your response to Ash in ME1 about what Shepard believes. I think they realized that some roleplay with their Shepard and telling Ashley "I don't think I should be answering questions about YOUR belief."
would have set them off. I agree that characters connecting through faith would be awesome.
