Someone tweet this and the Anderson lines to Weekes ASAP. Ask him if it could be in the extended cut. (Would do it myself but I don't have an account)

in all seriousness, this woulda been a great scene. i dont understand how they can defend the ending in the name of "artistic integrity" and then cut some deep, meaningfull dialogue like this out. and i actually dont mean that as a slam, it just genuinely confuses the hell out of me

Wow... if this is really a scene that was cut, they need to put it back in. Preferably with a Kaidan equivalent?

Tbh it's something I always wondered, too.

Extended cut doesn't have to be just about the ending. This scene is something else to put in the game, along with Tali showing her face on Rannoch.

That would have been amazing. Shame it was cut.

Are we certain this was actually a deleted scene? The writing feels... off... somehow.

Thank goodness that MP was added because we would have this wonderful scene that helps further the story. Who in the would want that?

Seriously, why not just add another disk for MP so those that want it have and those that don't never touch it. I rather have something that adds to the story than a MP shoot them up bang bang.

It's possible they cut it due to the "afterlife" being a sensitive subject to a lot of people, but I doubt it.

I thought Bioware forgot how to write Ashley's character, but they just left the good stuff out.

Yes, someone please do.  I've avoided posting stuff so specific for the EC, but if there's any way this could be restored, it should be.

Maybe later down the road we'll get a Director's Cut DLC with all the stuff that was cut. I'd buy it.

The writing did not seem up to par with the rest of the game (ending excluded). I think this is just a scene made up by some devoted fan with a good idea.

this... this could have worked in game... why was it not present?
Forget it, It was something that shouldn't have been cut in my opinion, but there's a crap load of stuff like that in a hell of a lot of art, from movies to now include games.

Would have been another awesome touch to the Ashley/Shepard romance.. Don't understand why they would take this out though? Would have made an already wonderful romance even better...

Would have been something... Feels a little too railroaded, not much room for dialogue choices, which in itself is probably something to do with why they cut it.

Yet it's something I would have liked to see, especially because I liked Ash's religious views (heck, it was part ways why I let her die on Virmire, she's got her peace with God. Also I hated her face in the first game win/win). Even if I didn't it would be an excellent opportunity to visit a sort of unanswered question. Shepard as a character died, what happened. Do we have memories, it sounds like something we should be able to choose. As awkward as the idea would be to implement.

I think I understand why they took it out, but I would have liked it to stay in.

Not a bad scene but maleShep wouldn't exactly get "scared"; that part must be cut/altered for the male

This the same MaleShep that Bioware decided would get freaked out and wake up in cold sweat night after night over a kid that he saw for 3 minutes get zapped by a Reaper blast?  That the MaleShep you're talking about?

lol you mean like... say, the "date" with Ashley?  Which consists of a few lines of auto-dialogue as you meet her in the Presidium and look at grass or something?

Whoever's doing the editing for Bioware needs to take a good long look at him or herself.  Cutting this, cutting the Anderson dialogue, cutting all the explanatory dialogue from the ending because the fans "don't need to know" or they "didn't know fans wanted that".

Serious.

Ashley and Shep talk about the afterlife all the time in ME1.

That's a little bit sexist right there.

And this scene should TOTALLY be put back in. I'm an atheist personally, but it seems like such a well written scene with greater insight into both Shepard and Ashley's characters. They should have explored this stuff in greater detail. It is rather depressing that so much of this game was screwed up, and good bits actually left out.

It's nice...but ultimately removing it didn't actually change anything. Probably why it was cut.

I'm really disappointed that this wasn't in the final game. Ash only has one actual conversation when she gets back on the Normandy, and she's not exactly 100% in that one.

I really have to question why the hell this scene didn't make it into the game.

I follow no religion myself and I don't believe in the supernatural, but the question of what will happen to us after we die is something that many of us will naturally find ourselves asking, even if we believe there is nothing.

It's human nature, and would have been a good thing to explore here...

And this scene was the kind of profound and brooding quality that worked... Not that useless ending.

Men are scared as easily as women. I take it that PotE doesn't think FemShep is hard as nails in the game either.

Just because someone has a hose in between their legs doesn't mean they don't know fear.

Thanks for sharing. It was decent, there was no need to cut it.
