Not a bad scene but maleShep wouldn't exactly get "scared"; that part must be cut/altered for the male

That's a little bit sexist right there.

And this scene should TOTALLY be put back in. I'm an atheist personally, but it seems like such a well written scene with greater insight into both Shepard and Ashley's characters. They should have explored this stuff in greater detail. It is rather depressing that so much of this game was screwed up, and good bits actually left out.

Men are scared as easily as women. I take it that PotE doesn't think FemShep is hard as nails in the game either.

Just because someone has a hose in between their legs doesn't mean they don't know fear.

^Seconded. And if your Shep has a friendship or even a LI with Ash, why couldn't they talk about this? Or any secrets fears or stresses that Shepard might have? That's what friends/partners do.

This game caught enough flak from fundie Christians regarding the gay relationships. Maybe they cut it because they didn't want even more anger from the Christian right.

I really doubt that they would have censored the scene as to not offend certain faiths, plenty of literature has reflected the same thing without any sort of controversy. It seems to gravitate more towards the idea of death's uncertainty rather than solid evidence of the "afterlife". It's a really great scene that reflects and expands on the characters really nicely, definately a shame that it was cut.

Oh and does anyone know of a way to easily see all of the deleted scenes? I'm curious to see more of them.

Assuming you could choose your responses in this, good scene. They shouldn't have cut it.

Yeah it's a shame this scene wasn't included at release. Ashley doesn't have enough interaction scenes as it is. It does make one wonder how much more dialogue was cut out of the game that could of possibly made it more enjoyable rpg experience.

They probably wouldn't have caught anything for that scene. They didn't take a stance one way or the other which is why I think it worked so well.

This is very similar to the conversation with Kaiden that is actually in the game but because Kaiden doesn't hold the same religious beliefs as Ashley it was slightly different. Maybe they left it out because it touches too close to deeper religious beliefs and didn't want to run the risk of offending those that hold similar beliefs in saying that they, Bioware, know what happens.

If anyone is offended by this then they seriously need to get their heads checked. And I say that in the nicest way possible.

Tak about "artistic integrity", it seems BW has none of it when it counts.

this makes me like Ashley SO MUCH more. It's sucha nicely done scene, and it's perfect for someone that romanced her. It's like...confronting her faith and whatnot before a war that they may no win. Wish they could have included it for those that romanced her.

What Shepard saw while dead: "I saw some weird face maker with a slider on it, I was really confused as to what it meant because parts of my face were being changed with simple movement of the bar. Also I was able to weirdly determine my specialization...I don't remember what my specialization was before...As well as the words Mass Effect 2 in giant letters...I saw...I don't know what I saw. Death? Destruction? Nothing's really clear..."

Later after endings to ME3

-"Why the hell would you try to kill me?!"

If this scene is real, that's very intriguing. Much much better than "I'd never forgive for not writing me when you were dead".

lol this.

Ash:  "Why didn't you contact me all this time?!"

Shepard: "Uh, because I was dead?  Or in a coma or something?  I don't know.  I just woke up two days ago."

Ash:  "Doesn't matter.  You're Cerberus now.  Traitor.  I thought we had something.  Benedict Arnold.  Hillbilly."

Shepard: /facepalm

While that scene might seem innocent enough to a third of the worlds population, it would have sparked a war in this forum.
The question "is there life after death" was blatant in that dialogue, and whether or not you consider it harmless BSN are not best known for civil debate when it comes to such things.

That means we shouldn't talk about ANYTHING.

Bioware, if this scene exist and has been cut, can you put it back in the game? Please? :crying:

Damn. Damn. I wonder who made the decision to cut the "meat" and heart from this story? Anderson's speech on the Citadel. The way these scenes were written and how they could have brought so much strength and understanding to the personal experience of the player is staggering. I'm also starting to wonder who is leaking this stuff?

There are many things you can talk about, but not all lead into religious discussions.

Is this for real? Because if it was I would have loved it. Ashley's faith as irritating as it's to most it's what attracted me to her as a character.

I agree totally.

Kinda makes you wonder what other important things were cut out and why. Would the fact that they had to make room for multiplayer be part of the cause?

Speculation here........a plausible, coherent, cohesive ending?Image IPB

The problem with this, is that people, for some odd reason, tend to rage and immediately start pointing "religious zealot" or "schizophrenic". Hell, the same people who rage on this don't even know the difference between spirituality and religion.

It was a great scene, and it's something that anyone would be curious about. Shepard came back from the dead, that alone is going to provide lots of asses filled with questions.
