If this is real, wow. Beautiful scene, but understandable why it was cut. Can definitely see some pieces of it coming back to the Cerberus bit.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a copy of that leaked script? I missed the whole fiasco, but would love to have it so that I can read it from time to time.

This is very similar to the conversation with Kaiden that is actually in the game but because Kaiden doesn't hold the same religious beliefs as Ashley it was slightly different. Maybe they left it out because it touches too close to deeper religious beliefs and didn't want to run the risk of offending those that hold similar beliefs in saying that they, Bioware, know what happens.

Its so neutral, I don't see how anyone could get annoyed.

Unless you wanted some renegade option to crush ash's beliefs or something...

If this is real, then that is quite saddening. Out of all the deleted scenes, I don't think I've seen a single one which wouldn't have improved the game. An unfortunate thing, that is.

Should have been there. While the few scenes with Ash were great, there simply wasn't enough. Very disappointing, but hey Bioware thanks for pushing me towards Liara...

Wow, zero reason to cut.

To summarize, which of course will cut the beauty out as well, its basically saying:

Ashley: So, obviously I've got to ask - what happened when you died?
Shepard: I don't know.

Shepard says he remembers dying in space (which is more like losing consciousness) and then waking up in the Cerberus lab. So BioWare is maintaing the great mystery that is the barrier of life and death. You need a team of STG operatives to find the controversy in this scene.

I'm an atheist but you're very close minded to have someone killed just because they believe in something you don't believe in. Her belief hurt no one, thus to hate her for it makes you a very horrible person.

If they cut it because they were afraid of offending people, that's just dumb. If we're able to have an even handed and civil conversation between Christopher Dawkins and Cardinal Pell in real life, surely we can have an ambiguous discussion on the afterlife in a video game.

This is brilliant! goddamn it are they such big idiots? I know they cut many good scenes and dialogues but this was incredible,I wonder if femShep would get a similar conversation with Ash.
