Yeah.  By well established convetion tier lists usually base their assertions on an assumption of high level execution and compares the upper potential of characters.   This Lopper guy clearly has no idea what he's talking about.  A tier list based on "how much I see this class used" is completely meaningless.

But yeah tier lists are okay in the right hands, but when the OP says something like that it makes the entire list irrelevant.
Also similar to what RamsenC said, the reason why I hate them is because people will also just say "wow must be the best of the best" and if the list is popular enough people will keep picking the same people, leaving the lower ones with hidden potential in the dust.

People being the same just isn't fun, exploring classes strengths and combinations with other classes is what makes this particular game valuable. It's not a competitive type game...it's cooperative.

Actually... sort of, yeah. If people knew that batarian soldiers weren't just human soldiers with a batarian skin, they might accept you, assuming you have good guns, a mic, and a decent N7.

Anyways, as Godless said, tiers aren't based on popularity, because TONS of people play soldier on bronze but that says nothing about the class. Even if you restrict yourself to gold, you see a lot of people playing quarian infy when it really isn't anything that special outside of geth and even when fighting geth there are options that are better.

The Salarian Engineer isn't God Tier.  Farming FBWGG may be EASY, but it's not one of the most efficient strategies, and it's certainly not an example of a class excelling far above the pack in GENERAL.  With an optimized team I can carve through gold enemies before the Salarian Engineer's aggro pull even has a chance to matter.

 Turian Soldier needs to go up on the list. His marksman skill and making him specialize in guns that benefit the most from increasing rate of fire makes him produce as much damage as single shot weapons but differently and over the same amount of time. 

I've been playing with the Turian Soldier with a Talon/Hornet set up and I've been outscoring claymore or widow infiltrators on Gold. This is because of the increase rate of fire, stability, extra head shot damage, and some accuracy bonuses. The talon is like a wraith or black widow, but with 7 rounds in a clip (extended clip size), thus increasing it's damage output tremendously with that RoF. 

Try a Turian Soldier build with high dps weapons. Revenant, Vindicator, Hornet, Talon, Paladin. You'll find that this class makes guns more efficient in the killing department on Gold. Lots. Of. Guns.

Honestly, this whole thing depends on who the other people are, and what you are facing. Drell Adepts are a C tier with a combo buddy and like G without. Same applies to most adepts, but some can hold their own better than others.


 Similarly, Quarian Infiltrators are godlike vs the Geth good vs Cerberus, but a bit weak vs Reapers.  Most engineers(other than Quarians) get 1 tier bump vs Geth.

No it's not.  There is no secret technique to make Shockwave or Singularity actually good on Gold.  I'm all for trying to figure out a way to make every class at least respectable on Gold, and I 've succeeded with most, but the Human Adept has the worst power suite in the game, I don't care what you do or how you build it.  And please don't come back with how many points you've scored with it.  It doesn't matter.

Shockwave and singularity are two of the worst powers in the game, and Warp is only really good in a situational sense.  Yes you can set off BE's with the Human Adept, but it's so inefficient at it that is borders on the absurd when compared to most other biotic classes.

Please don't make a guide.  It's a garbage class with garbage powers.  There is no trick to it.  Singularity sucks on Gold.  Shockwave sucks on Gold.  All HA can really do on Gold is Warp -> Shockwave for BE's, and other classes do that so much better it's ridculous.  I've played it quite a bit, and it's quite possibly the worst class in the game.

I'll help I guess. Singularity is awesome against Reapers for one. It's a better crowd control tool than Stasis. You can just drop a singularity somewhere and it'll snatch up all the unarmored chumps. On top of that Warp is awesome obviously.

I hate Shockwave because of the constant screen shake, but it's actually a decent detonator against Reapers. You should really have a biotic partner though. I would never use this class outside of Reapers if you can't tell, but the class doesn't suck.

They quantifiably suck on Gold because they don't affect anything with shields, barriers, or armor.  Knock off the epeen non-sense.  Both powers suck.  Period.
