This is entitled, I donated to charity, cheered for the cupcake campaign, and am not a major fan the extended cut. BUT.....

But you'd gladly jump back in IF this thing proves successful?
Isn't that how it works?

It would be great if I drove down the interstate and saw "I hate the ending!" and "I love the ending!" billboards along the roadBlood-Lord Thanatos wrote...

Have you stopped to consider that maybe doing a new ending just isn't realistic? Maybe its just too difficult to patch out a massive chunk of code that's hard written to the disc. And even if they did make a whole new ending the way you wanted it, it wouldn't necessarily be what others wanted. So the whole thing would just get worse. That's why I think the vague endings are brilliant. We can just headcanon our own epilogue.

by how fast someone in canada goes and defaces it with a moustache and big boobs
and sprays "I LOVE THE ENDING" right over the message

I don't see how it is entitled if people waste money. I can understand thinking it is ineffective/negative.

I don't think this is a good idea. I was fully supportive of the Retake movement, and when they finally produced results I was thrilled! However, something like this isn't going to generate any positivity at all.
The media will eat it up and spew it back out in the form of "gamer entitlement" and "see, they were douches all along!" Bioware employees will see it and will likely feel demoralized, angry or harassed on a daily basis. The general public won't know WTF is going on.
Honestly, guys, you should go out on a high note. $80000 donated to charity and an ending compromise are astounding achievements; don't cheapen them with something this silly.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the billboard idea. You can't force someone to change their minds. I'm all for continuing to advocate that they produce a DLC that changes the ending rather than expands on it. I'll continue to speak out until I look like an Asari. But I was actually against the cupcakes, and I'm against this. Stop spending money on these ridiculous gestures. We've already shown that we're serious. We raised 80,000 for a good cause, we raised over 1,000 for a lighthearted jab. But this really will be seen as over the top.
What we need to do now is to organize. The DLC was an effective strategy because there isn't a single unified voice. So EA/BioWare can point to that and say "See, we're giving them what they want. They asked for clarity, they asked for closure, so we're giving it to them for free." And they're right. Some people did ask for clarity and closure. Many more of us though asked for an ending that doesn't violate everything about the previous games. It's time to find a single message and stick to that. Not waste money on a billboard when the only thing we've agreed on so far is that the ending sucks.

I don't get it with you people.
What is it that affects you so much that you have to argue, criticize
and constantly fight with the Retakers? If you want your endings so
badly go ahead and keep them, let us have ours we're not stopping you
from keeping your endings. I'm sure everyone would be fine with getting
alternate endings instead of a complete rewrite.
You people
argue and criticize us for nothing, I just don't get it. What is it that
you are defending? "Artistic integrity"? BioWare's pride? EA? The
future of gaming?
If you have nothing to say but instead just
want to criticize, argue and insult without a reason then don't waste
your time, go enjoy Mass Effect 3 and its endings, I'm sure you'll do
yourself and everyone else a favor.
I'm not arguing, infact, the quote you took this from was to someone I was agreeing with. You realized that right? it doesn't help your point at all lol. If I want my endings? they were never mine, they were Bioware's. You don't have an ending and never will. I think you have been living under a rock for the last 5 weeks sir, your side is the aggressive one just like you are being confrontational with me atm lol.
I do enjoy how you tell me not to waste my time, but your side has spent much much more complaining and fighting every article, every company, and every pro ender since launch

I knew when this "movement" was announced I knew it was gonna be bad. "Retake Mass effect"? If that absurd name doesn't define "entitled" I don't know what does.

Thats how most wars work.
Why don't more people reply like this instead of going "This is crazy, I'm out"? If you see something you don't like about something you consider yourself to be a part of, why not try to change that? Convince people to see what you think is wrong about it rather than abandoning ship and watching it sink.daecath wrote...
