We have to prove that we're willing to stop giving EA money, and this is the first step. Talking with our wallet.

Money is spent on more stupid thing than this every ****ing day and you don't see people screaming about it.
Their money, their right, their decision.
and yet a whole community will be demonized for it
people need to think before they act
Feel free to make a public statement that you're not part of it, if you REALLY feel that way.
Freedom of speech is a ****.

Future of gaming? why would a billboard threaten the future of gaming? you're really going off the tangent with such wild assumptions. This backlash is because the people that loves Mass Effect, it wouldn't have happened with other game, is what you get for trashing the ending of a superb franchise. Even If this billboard makes EA to fall and die then other company would take its place, we aren't soiling the ground with salt.MaestroX101 wrote...
This isn't about personal insults. This is about the future of gaming, something that's kind of an important part of my life. I know that's pretty deep, but honestly, you're threatening not only the future of this series (which has been given a chance to make all the Retaker's happy again) but the future of gaming in general, as well as the label of a "gamer", and I refuse to sit down and watch as I'm associated with a group of childish, ignorant, unlogical money wasters that would rather spend time crapping on their own money than move the hell on to other things.
Can I get a QFT please?
...anyone?
In any case, EA itself is the one threatening the future of gaming, the rushed development of ME3 proves it.
You're not looking at the big picture. You're looking at just the billboard. Like it's been stated it, this is more about sending a message, and you damn right a message will be made if enough people can pull this off. To do something like this after BioWare has decided to try and fix this issue has the potential for them to draw it back, not do anything at all. And it's not like BioWare's eyes aren't the only eyes looking at this. Forbes obviously has been paying attention to this. Gaming outlets, WSJ, NYT, etc. EA/BioWare has the opportunity to make things better for the majority, but this movement is defacing any and everything that they're trying to do.

My opinion on the extended cut is based upon the official statements, the ones that say there would be extra cutscenes and clarification on the current ending. I don't like the extended cut as BioWare has presented it in their official statements. If BioWare wants to come out and provide specifics, I'll listen. If they are listening, as they keep reminding us they are, they will then take my feedback on board and let me know why I'm wrong (or right as the case may be).
If they'd entered into a dialogue with fans/customers to begin with we might have been able to get through this amicably.
That communication is something that has not been happening. We keep getting PR statements that amount to not much followed by tweets that get deleted or later we are told that can't be relied upon because they were made by someone outside of the creative/development team. This is creating a lot of frustration.

you`ll find the ending is quite satisfactory and moving, what might irk you is theres not a lot to the actual gameplay after the first playthrough.
but dlc will fix that

thats good because im the same way
i have stated it many times before and its ovious people just dont listen
im only going overboard because this retake movement stated many times they speak for all gamers when nobody asked them to.
they have hijacked threads regarding possitive comments about the endings
they abuse the word troll and act all offended when someone actually grows a pair of balls and confront them on the stuff they say

I have paid for a product , that is not enjoyable , is that not paying money ?
I have paid for a product that invalidated 2 other products and now worst part BROKEN PROMISES ...
So I invested time and happy memories , to be shreded apart cause 1 writer decide to play god over my emotions ?
And then pretend it ididn´t happen , sure government do it all the time , nothing new there , sadly we need a government , I do not need a writer to break a franchise I love for 5 years ...
To say this is his art his vision , and whatever comes before does not count .
Nothing matters , but please play our multiplayer , please pay for our DLC .
Those 2 free DLC doesn´t change a thing about how I feel , or next week how another person when he comes to the same conclusion .

I have no words to express how I feel after reading this.
The Retake Movement has now gone from being a group of disatisfied gamers taking things slightly too seriously, to being certifably insane.
You are raising thousands of dollars for what exactly?
For a protest against a video game?
How about this. Spend all that money and give it to shelters and the like. Not protesting a game over 5 minutes. FFS.
80,000 dollars was raised for charity. Did you forget that?
wich was started how again?
thats right for an ending and dont deny it
when bioware said they wont do one people demanded there money back and if i could id back hand those people who demanded it
Wait. That seriously happened? I mean, really? Yeah, entitled doesn't even begin to describe it.

You haven't made it to the ending, huh?
I'm honestly sorry you have to deal with this mess, with so many possible spoilers ruining the experience for you.
Though the assumption that this group is older gamers (not necessarily over 30 or 40) is from the fact that this idea of the billboard campaign could actually work, and it takes more than a few 12 y/o kids to do something like this...

Oh i believe you, and your desire to let it all out.
Thank God, it doesn't work that way, or i'd hate to see who'd do more damage to "gaming industry": retake movement or your "exercise of freedom of speech right".

There is audio of EA saying that they make the bulk of their money in microtransactions, not DLC or content like that. Offering free DLC to ping you for a microtransaction later is like saying, "the first taste is free."
I don't want to be treated like that as a gamer anymore.
Feel free to disagree, but the haneous name-calling and comparisons of htl members to such things I won't repeat is disgusting. HTL has already proven they can behave better, act move civil, than half the members who've posted on this thread.

You know, I only got jobs in my life out of boredom and responsibility not for security. I am also fluent in 6 languages, English is my 3rd, and I still write better than some who only know English.
All I have to say to you is, if you want to spend your money on a false sense of hope that a multi-million dollar company will change a video game ending for you over a billboard be my guest, but if YOU had money, you would walk into EA's office and commission your own ending paying everyone's salaries for their time.
Hold that
